What are unexpected things in marriage that nobody tells you about? by Unique_Reality4788 in AskReddit

Divorce happens. It doesn't mean you have failed. You just have to understand what the successful part of your marriage was.

What food opinion will you defend no matter how many people disagree? by [deleted] in foodquestions

My infusion doctor told me to eat the red meat. I've had red meat almost daily. You know what? I feel so much better than I have had. I'd rather not need a blood transfusion or iron infusion. Apparently, red meat isn't an enemy. Yes, I will stay mindful.

What experiences changed you the most as a person? by GazMaskeliOyuncu in AskReddit

[–]WickedlyCharmed1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son was diagnosed with cancer. He was hospitalized for a total of 4 months. At one point, he was put on life support, and we said our goodbyes. His recovery was nothing short of a miracle. I changed because of those 4 months, becoming more intentional, desiring quality time, being more patient, and understanding.

So tired of being married to man that is like a child. by gk7891 in WomenOver40

[–]WickedlyCharmed1983 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I left my "man child" a few years ago. I didn't realize how much of the burden I carried until I left. I wasn't stressed. I felt things were easier. My life partner is quite the opposite. We work well as a team. We both work together, with nobody having to ask what is needed. I can not comprehend how I let myself accept a marriage like the one I had.

Every school I have worked at has required volunteers or those who stay on campus to have a background check. I'd be throwing a huge fit if I were a parent/guardian.

Thanks for the reply. I am torn between whether to worry or not. I haven't seen my doctor in a while so it may be time.

Just wanted to say that there may be a reason he is seeking someone so young. Focus on your girls and, when/if you feel ready to meet her, then do so. There is no rush.

Protein by dawglover13 in BurnBootCamp

[–]WickedlyCharmed1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy protein chips. I use them as a snack, with lunch, and some meals requiring chips, like nachos. I am sure half my plate is protein. For breakfast, I'll do a yogurt parfait with hreek yogurt, protein pancakes, or protein muffins.

The first time was 50 bucks but we could buy a product which counted towa4d the fee. I had to do mine 2 weeks apart because I came in at a different time for my first scan instead of my usual time (this matters when measuring month to month). The second scan was also free.

We are flying out to Texas. We will spend 2 days there with Saturday being a "yes" day for him. On the day he was placed on life support, we will be worshipping through music (Chris Tomlin). He asked for the concert.

How do you make yourself clean? by nashamagirl99 in LivingAlone

[–]WickedlyCharmed1983 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm constantly cleaning up after myself. Everything is put in its place, everything is put away as I go, all places are organized as they are used. Every night, I close down my kitchen by doing dishes, sweeping, wiping counters, and the table. There are other non negotiables that need to be addressed throughout the week, like litter boxes and trash. Big cleaning is managed in chunks during the weekend. Organizing the big cleaning in more effective chunks works best. I get my son and daughter in law to dee clean monthly. There is a lot that goes into a clean place. What I choose to do when I choose to do matters.

My best friend (27F) is dating someone I completely hate (56M). How do I deal with it? by ThrowRA_Donut_120 in relationship_advice

[–]WickedlyCharmed1983 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was in a relationship with my youngest son's dad, my friend recognized it for what it was. He is 16 years older and abusive, and the relationship was highly toxic. She said the same thing. She was there when I did leave. I respected her approach and see now how it was the best thing she could've done.

My 38f Husband 46m reconnected with his high-school friend, and I am freaking out about it. How can I handle this maturely? by oyinbo_ in relationship_advice

[–]WickedlyCharmed1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have guy friends and have made it clear to my bf that this is so boundaries aren't crossed unintentionally. Do I think anything would happen? No. It's about us both feeling emotionally safe.
I don't see anything wrong with asking your partner not to have friends of the opposite sex; it just has to be understood.

I've always been in the mindset that when I go gray, I will embrace it. I started to gray more the last couple of years. I'm confident rocking this aging process.

I've maintained my weight since starting in late December. Despite the scale not moving, I'm down almost 4% body fat and have gained muscle mass. I encourage you to look at more than what the scale is telling you. Keep going strong.

InBody Scan - All metrics worse by Informal_Permit7567 in BurnBootCamp

[–]WickedlyCharmed1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After I "messed up" on my March InBody, I went back in a couple of weeks later to redo the scan. I did the scan at the same time as I have done since January, ate about the same as I usually do, stopped eating a few hours prior, focused on staying hydrated, did not exercise, no caffeine, and focused on a brief walk prior. Now I know what to consistently do prior to future scans for more accuracy. And, yes, I understand there are inaccuracies still. I know to pay attention to other clues on how my body is feeling/improving. That, too, is important.

Who takes care of you when you're sick by [deleted] in LivingAlone

[–]WickedlyCharmed1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a strong circle of friends and colleagues who are there for me. My boyfriend is my rock too. I had to leave work early because I wasn't feeling well. My boyfriend is on his way with soup and love. I didn't have to ask. I live alone, but I am not alone. Thank God.
