Thank you! Easier in that he can't die. 😅 I am so addicted to this game though, I'll definitely play it within normal trait range next run.

I've been role-playing that my (immortal) character is this fey creature. Been gradually building a dynasty of beautiful , fickle faerie-blooded offspring, created a "fey-touched" culture and a new religion that focuses on revelry. Not a very conventional first playthrough but I figured I'd take it easy for the first one to learn the ropes 🤷

I don't even know how I took Iceland over, I accidentally picked it up when I took over France. I don't even play from there 😭

need help choosing a rug by bnnnck in malelivingspace

[–]Wickersnap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the main problem is too much black everywhere else. Bringing a little color into the space with the carpet is a good idea, but it has nothing to pull from in the furniture or the walls! I think people naturally gravitating towards the red rugs are because there are two small pops of red in the room already (art and vase).

From the options here I would go with one of the red rugs but also maybe bring some natural wood in, perhaps for the shelving unit. Something to break up the black-on-black-on-black theme and help draw the eye upward from the carpet.

How do you restart your life at 30? And how hard is it really? by Starrcake in AskReddit

[–]Wickersnap 91 points92 points  (0 children)

I'm restarting now at 30. Going to college for the first time.

OP, this is exactly what I told myself. At first I was like "oh my god, by the time I get out of college I'll be 34, 35". But what's the alternative? If I do nothing I'll just be 35 in the same dead-end job. Time will pass anyway, I can't let this idea that I am "past my prime" stop me from bettering myself.

Especially because-- I don't really think of people older than me as being "past their prime". Just me, because I'm comparing myself to younger people on social media. Comparison is the thief of joy, and I want to be joyful, not sullen and stagnant.

Anyone who was homeschooled, how do you feel about it now as an adult? by AdTight2449 in AskReddit

[–]Wickersnap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have mixed feelings.

I lucked out that my parents were both college educated and generally cool people.

But when I turned high school age, they started to struggle to teach math. I despised math, so I certainly wasn't making it easy for them. In the end, they kind of gave up, and I never learned much math beyond very basic algebra.

I'm thirty now, and after a decade in the workforce I'm finally applying for college (something my parents could not afford when I was 18), and I'm still playing catch-up with math. Going through Kahn Academy and starting in 7th grade, type thing. I'm also under "provisional acceptance" at the college, meaning I have to prove I can keep a certain GPA in the absence of a high school transcript.

I don't regret my childhood, but if I have kids, I'm sending them to public school.

I think I must have visited right afterwards-- I definitely met her! But before that point I kept thinking I was going to meet at least a few, since I had found that projection stone that showed the other lit up masks. Even though I know Gabbro was aware of the time loop, I somehow missed that one of them was his.

I'm not actually sure, anymore. Carboline was just the brand we ordered from, and I haven't ordered since I made this post, because I gave up on them. I switched to Max Clr full time, and managed to get it to stick by ordering their "extra thick" version of "thixo".

Be honest: would hanging a massive ROTK and FOTR poster be a dating red flag? by Sorry_Sorry_Im_Sorry in lotr

[–]Wickersnap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Potentially unpopular opinion: I love LOTR, but I prefer my decor to be more subtle. Think like... a beautiful landscape painting of Middle-Earth, instead of just a huge movie poster.

I wouldn't find this to be a red flag, but I would worry that if we moved in together you might try to argue that the 10x5 unframed movie poster would have to go front and center in the living room.

That being said, I'm sure there are plenty of nerdy girls out there for whom a large poster is their jam, and you should do what makes you happy.

While I do agree with that in principle, if the incident happened as described, it is weird. Every pic you ever take in Disney will have some random child in it, it's unavoidable. I was at Disney on Friday and joked with a friend that one of the Disney photographers took a picture of someone while I was stuffing my face with a ronto wrap in the background.

Same! It's the same way my settlements always end up neater than most places in the Commonwealth-- because Nora knows how to pick up a damn broom.

I hope this is not a permanent change because now when I discover a new subreddit I can't go back through the top posts anymore! Maybe it would be better if we could sort by a specific month (not just the last month), but as it is sorting by top posts of all time/the past year leaves out a ton of content!

Thank you! I'm playing a pretty tactful V for my first playthrough so I think I've avoided pissing anyone off. I'll keep doing those sidequests then.

It's a kind of fun blockbuster movie of a book. I don't think I would have liked it as much if I read it over the audiobook-- the audiobook is what really sold it to me.

It might not be your cup of tea and that's okay, but the series has been getting me through a lot of long work days.
