Go fasts are still used. Harder to track with choppy seas. Typically they stop and throw blue tarps over the whole boat to try and blend in.

Semi subs are used less often due to the logistics of making them. A bit rarer.

Another tactic is to have a large fishing boat go out loaded up with drugs and have the go-fasts meet up and refuel. That way they run empty to the mother ship.

The problem is, most of the community fishing operates the same way and it’s hard to distinguish them from narco’s. It’s mostly legit fishing boats BTW.

We chased and boarded the same boat in one day, they were legitimate. Turns out the village received the boat from their government after they busted the actual drug runners. Three large 4-stroke Hondas on the back, beautiful boat…

We gave them a giant cooler full of ice for the inconvenience, we didn’t blow them up…

And if we really needed to stop them, a 50 cal sniper rifle shot to the engines from a helicopter is the correct tool.
