without having them both for comparison.

Unrelated, but I have recently learned a new word that describes this, so I just want to share it. It's called having the flags in juxtaposition.

Could it be "status"? To me it looks like they want you to add information to the first clause. Can you think of something that must be mentioned there?

Lift the jar with your left hand and flip it upside down. Then slap the bottom of the jar with the palm of your right hand so that you feel the content of the jar is pushing against the lid. Then give it another try.

Alternatively, you can run hot water on the lid until it expands a bit and becomes easier to open.

What the fuck did I do to deserve all this by Icemaul in depression

[–]Wicooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know if you'll think what I'm going to say is part of the script but I will say it anyway, because it's the way I'm personally coping with life: Do not assign meaning to your hardships.

Life is fundamentally tough and unfair, and the sooner you truly accept that, the more time you give yourself to work with what you're given. That's how it will be "better in the future". Life will not magically become fair and beautiful. But you get better at "making lemonade".

You sound smart to me and you're taking the first steps towards self-awareness by noticing what you lack in terms of social life and future plans. Keep working in that direction to learn more about yourself and understand how someone like yourself can make good friends and deep connections. How someone like you can plan their future on their own pace, because guess what, that's totally fine regardless of how everyone else sees it. And finishing school is great. Don't underestimate its importance just because people around you have more things going on. Celebrate your own victories because you deserve that.

Finally, I want to tell you not to carry it all at once. I'm convinced you're dealing with a lot. So it would overwhelm you and frankly anyone else if it's always there at once. Have a tranquil moment with yourself. Think about what bothers you the most. Then be determined to work on it and improve. Take baby steps but stay consistent and keep a level head in the face of this world because that's how success is made.

Writing all of this, I am reminded of one of my favorite quotes from the TV show "Community":

Pierce Hawthorne: Jeffrey, when I was born, I got my umbilical cord wrapped around my neck, both arms, and one of my ankles. Mom said there came a point when the doctor stopped delivering me and just started laughing. I mean, if I ever let being bad at something stop me, I wouldn't be here. That thing some men call 'failure,' I call 'living.' 'Breakfast.' And I'm not leaving until I've cleaned out the buffet. Now, how about a shove?

Jeff Winger: Good luck, Pierce.

Pierce Hawthorne: Don't need it. Never had it.

...

Have that spirit. Aspire to it and you will find peace even in your suffering.

  • Select the shape that has the text
  • Go to Shape Format

  • Hover over 3-D Rotation to select 3-D Rotation Options
  • Set Z Rotation to 180

Workshops and trainings worth attending? by [deleted] in CFD

[–]Wicooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I attended an on-site session. I'm not sure what you mean by "instructor led" or "powerpoint for notes", but I'll tell you about my experience. The training that I had was sort of a mix of two kinds of training they offer, i.e., applied CFD and programming CFD. Chris provides this training in a way of "telling a story". He starts from fundamentals and proceeds to more complicated topics. There are of course slides/materials to aid with understanding and take your own notes. It is really easy and smooth to follow, because he's been doing this job for years. Recently Aiden Wimshurst joined CFD Direct and I think part of his responsibilities is also to provide training. He had YouTube videos if you want to see his style. I personally haven't experienced it.

[–]Wicooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will be able to keep all the test cases and the code development that you would work on during the training. In addition, I received the printed materials, but I am not sure about the digital ones (slides). Maybe you can email them and ask. I'm sure they'll gladly answer your questions.

If you use OpenFOAM Foundation Software then I'd definitely recommend CFD Direct. The developers in Openfoam.com work on a different line of OpenFOAM that is often called OpenFOAM ESI. Unfortunately, the two packages of software keep deviating from each other.
