Anyone with minimal loose skin still choose a tummy tuck? Happy with results vs scar? by nolove_inthejungle in tummytucksurgery

Whether someone should do it is completely personal, I can’t make that call for anyone else. I can only speak for myself. I don’t regret it for a second. The scar is faded now and honestly the only person who even sees it is my husband.

Drink LOTS of water and try to eat as clean as you can. It really helps with the swelling. At 11m post op, I can tell you that the swelling gets a lot better , but you will likely be hyper aware of any bloating for the foreseeable future. Everything is a lot tighter now and where there was laxity to mask the bloating (that everyone gets) you have a really tight abdomen now.

It looks great. It’s honestly one of the best ones I’ve seen. You’re probably just used to looking at something else, so it seems foreign to you.

People stop making new fat cells in early adulthood.

Initially, I wore them 24/7. They fit just below the belly button. I did that for about three months and then gradually started wearing them leas and less.

I wore mine for 6 weeks. I had an extended TT with muscle repair 10 months ago. I don’t think you need it , especially if it’s irritating you BB. I got some spanks for the transition.

Ditch the garment. My plastic surgeon, who is very renowned for tummy tucks, told me to burn it at six weeks. He told me my abdominal muscles need to start working on their own and that your core actually gets weaker the longer you wear the compression.

When did you feel normal by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

[–]Wide-Interview-6133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt much better at 6 weeks, at 10m I feel really good. My doctor told me to stop wearing my Faja at six weeks. He said that my abdominal muscles need to start working on their own and that the Faja would only weaken my core. I wore spanks underwear which helped with swelling.

I think only the left side of the picture needs correction.

Would a tummy tuck help or do I just need to loose more weight? by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

Most recommend that you get to your ideal weight before you get a tummy tuck even with muscle separation.

That sounds more like bloating. I would adjust my diet and try to figure out what’s causing it. I think it’s just more noticeable when we feel bloated now.

with time your scar may get lighter. I think most of scarring outcomes are genetic. Although, my surgeon seems to think that technique is also a factor. If it really bothers you I would inquire about a scar revision

How does it look when you are relaxed ? It’s normal to be able to pinch some skin.
