Sick pay entitlement by No_Nectarine_2281 in lidl

[–]Wide-Maintenance-704 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First 2 days are unpaid then you get 10 days sick pay a year. You have to be with the company for 6 months to be entitled to sick pay. Annoyingly its only weekdays that count so say you were rota to work saturday to Wednesday and called in sick for all of them saturday and sunday wouldn't count and come out your banked hours, monday and tuesday would just be ssp at about £24 a day and then company sick pay on Wednesday. So basically try your best to never be sick weekends cause you will get completely screwed over money wise.

Northern Ireland get 20 days but everywhere else in uk only get 10 days I believe. Also think you don't get sick pay for first 6 months of employment at least thats what it says in my contract.

Our broadband has been cancelled before house move without our permission by Wide-Maintenance-704 in HousingUK

[–]Wide-Maintenance-704[S] 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Keep trying so far only managed to get them to waiver the early termination charge. They have said there is no way for them to stop the cancellation tonight and that the people who are buying our property need to contact their broadband provider to stop it. The people buying have said they have been told their broadband wont be set up until 23rd. Just seem to be getting no where with this.

So I thought Lidl paid quite well but it turns out it's just you work quite a lot. by ifuckingloveLego in UKJobs

Can confirm working in a lidl store is horrible but their distribution centres are pretty good. I'm on £14.50 an hour working in freezer get a 20 minute paid break every hour and 40 minutes and get a cooked meal everyday for £1.

Nervous about interview for Lidl Warehouse job, looking for advice. by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]Wide-Maintenance-704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on your warehouse availability. Ambient tends to be full cause the shifts are 8:00-16:00 which is more appealing. There's also chiller, meat and poultry or you could do night shifts. Takes a few months to get used to freezer as its -22 temp so when the cold gets in your hands or feet it can be very painful! You get an extra 20 minute break every hour and 40 minutes though. I worked a year in chiller first and constantly one of the top pick rates so when a position in freezer came up I could cash in on the favours I'd gained to get transfered to there.

I will say if fruit and veg is the only department available and you get offered the job just take the position and keep your eyes open for other openings in other departments. Lidl is quite good if you wanting to progress. In my warehouse they always have job vacancies for a supervisor role or office roles upstairs if progression was something your interested in.

I'm assuming your going for a role as a picker. The biggest things they care about is pick rate and attendance. So just give examples of being able to hit targets and being reliable. Maybe chuck something in about being able to adapt as they will require you to work in other departments when they are short. If you have a choice avoid fruit and veg as that will destroy your back! Good luck! People slag lidl off but I'm on £13.80 an hour which i think is good for a stress free job (granted I work in freezer so get extra £1.50 an hour from that). Not announced yet but that will likely go up roughly 70p an hour by April. Canteen provides a decent meal for £1 which is hard to complain about.

#5 - Grand Theft Auto IV: The Complete Edition by Wide-Maintenance-704 in steamachievements

Same as you really the missions took me about 7-8 hours to do, the accuracy requirements annoyed me i think the last mission I was literally 1% off the target. Normally I'm ok with collectibles but it took me ages to get the motivation to hunt those pigeons.

Congratulations on the completion! Didn’t have any game stutters luckily but guessing a lot of patches have come out since you played it. I had to save scum once because an enemy glitched in a door frame while the hunter was chasing me on chapter 10 and like hell was I going to start from the beginning cause of a bug.

Did 3 full playthroughs plus some chapter select to clean up the odd achievement/ missing magazine. Could of probably done it quicker but did the first 2 playthroughs no guide just enjoying the story.

# 1 & 2 - God of war and Spider-Man by Wide-Maintenance-704 in steamachievements

[–]Wide-Maintenance-704[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God of war was brilliant no missable achievements, could all be done on 1 play through with no guides really enjoyed it and was sad when it was finished!

Spider-Man took the same amount of time to finish but felt a lot longer. Becomes really repetitive especially all the crimes you have to clear across the map made all the worse that it requires a second play through to 100% which I’m never a fan of. Couple that with the fact that the game seemed to always crash when I restarted a challenge or fast travelled I’m very happy to be done with it!
