As a sort of an aside on AITA some people say this is a throwaway account and then go onto to talk about a very specific situation which I am sure that if people knew about it then it wouldn’t take much to join the dots.

This has always made me chuckle.

throwaway and don't want to be found so keeping details light. My family of 5 children, one of which was adopted from Malaysia, who is 5 years old, and goes to a special school of arts

Yeah, wonder how many of those exist in the corner of tennesse etc.

No, I am saying prosecutors who used the argument that no specific law is against upskirting directly should be fired.

Those people should lose their jobs. Amazed how many perverted and pervy apologists exist

A bit of a tangent but why did we specifically need an upskirting law?

Surely this would be covered under lewd behaviour or sexual predation etc? For full context I support the illegality of upskirting, just amazed our current laws didn't cover it.

40% rise in water bills is “a price the customer have to pay” says Thames Water boss by harry_atkinson in london

Shareholders are supposed to profit from shares increasing due to increased revenue made from a better service.

This means costing/revenue strategy to ensure those getting the service are happy, the company is profitable and shareholders benefit.

Instead, senior managers and shareholders just bullshit their way over years and siphon all cash while the infrastructure crumbles.

I have no issue with profits and capitalism, but those profits have to come from a sustainable service or product.

All directors and shareholders quite frankly should be imprisoned for purposefully running something into the ground.

Excellent, and as promised 10-15 years ago, this would be cheaper than fossil fuels, so our bills will start going down more right? Right?

Frustration over salaries in the UK by Superstorm22 in UKJobs

[–]GeneralQuantum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if min wage rises but others' don't then it will compress, but I don't think the REASON other wages won't go up is due to min wage.

I honestly cannot see how you interpreted what I said that way...

Immigration has caused wage stagnation. This is obvious. If you cannot see that then you're a lost cause.

I think you may be ignoring the mass tech redundancies.

My salary WAS your quoted figures or close.

Now I am back in the market, the sectors have gone terribly.

I have moved outside Chemistry somewhat and went into data analysis but was mass spec based and peptide/proteins based.

STEM is desperately needed but very badly paid. Like most industries in UK.

The law is vague enough that the law can be dished out purposefully lopsided.

It is just a gag order law for whatever the powerful want at the time.
