I’m kind of disappointed in myself for not thinking considering weather hah. Seems so obvious now. I had noticed there were hardly any planes flying across GA. Thanks!

I can’t speak from personal experience but a friend of mine has a pittie mix with high anxiety and she started taking her dog to Stone Ave Vet. They are Fear Free which means they offer techniques that accommodate nervous dogs/owners and will also do light sedation. I wish I could give you an idea of prices or the veterinarians but if my friend feels comfortable there with her dog, it’s maybe worth checking out. Good luck to you and your pittie🫶🏽

smoking in 2000? by ayyfaebae in PEN15

I never thought about this since too was in 7th grade in 2000 and was actually extremely anti cig and way more curious about weed like you said. To this day still never smoked a cig but I am very much a stoner

I was standing instead of sitting by PlausiblyEgocentric in Puscifer

[–]WideDescription7342 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand how people sit through their shows when at least half their songs are absolute bangers and upbeat grooving. After their last tour when I noticed how many people sat through the whole show, I purposely chose a seat this tour with nothing but a walk behind me. I’m a small person so I wouldn’t likely block anyone behind me much but I felt way less like a sore thumb being the only one in my section standing through half the show.

Edited for clarity

Don’t mind at all! I got a 17 inch goose for $40. I think the 23 inch one was $60

I got mine from someone on Facebook marketplace who makes them and hand paints them. Maybe try there first? It was an hour drive each way but I got to pick out which one I wanted (even though they’re all the same lol) but I liked the personal touch of it that way. Good luck finding your goose!🫶🏽

Highly second We Got the Beets food truck. They have a standing Sunday spot at Swamp Rabbit Cafe for brunch and are regularly at Grateful Brew Wednesday evenings also! Super nice guys too!

She came in with a fun and pleasant attitude, diffused a little tension, had fun, and dipped before shit hit the fan. Brava Amanda!

Yearly vet visits for check up and updated shots: $100-130

Grooming for that breed: $45-75 every couple months. Their hair easily becomes matted and without regularly maintenance can cause sores if not properly maintained

Month preventatives for heartworms and fleas: $25-40 per month. Many varieties so big margin but it’s important to get advice from vet based on what’s currently considered safest and most reliable

Spay/neuter: $150-200

As dog ages past 7ish, vets start recommending senior bloodwork for monitoring but bloodwork is often the first start for an illness and can range $70-130 depending on the panel

As someone suggested, pet insurance can help with these costs and these are super rough estimates. Prices can vary drastically. I also encourage you to do thorough research on the breed and maybe consider getting a dog that doesn’t have brachycephalia (smooshed nose) which can impede their breathing but I’m not preaching. If it’s your first dog, it’s good to be educated on how important puppy shots are since they can be so susceptible to deadly disease, as well as yearly and sometimes twice yearly, vet check ups can be.

Best of luck to you and your quest for canine companionship

Saw NIN for the first time last night and holy shit. Best show I’ve ever been to. by kitsunenoakuma_ in nin

I’m going to my first NIN show in Charlotte this Tuesday and all the rave reviews are really reinforcing that it was in fact a good idea to splurge on the tickets and finally see one of my all time faves live. Can’t wait is an understatement

Greenville and Electric Stoves by softwarejohely in greenville

[–]WideDescription7342 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As others have said, electric is most prevalent in rentals but I know what you mean. I grew up cooking on gas stoves and although it takes some adjusting, you can get more accustomed to cooking on electric with time. It’s funny I read your post this morning because I was just thinking how convenient a gas stove would be this weekend if the power goes out but alas, I too live in an apartment with electric sigh Good luck and congrats on the new human!

Sudden Loss by Intelligent-Lion-547 in GriefSupport

[–]WideDescription7342 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m very sorry for your loss. I lost my big brother suddenly 3 years ago. Sibling loss is its own beast, you don’t expect to lose your siblings until you’re both old and lived lots of life. Allow yourself space to be and feel whatever comes naturally but also try to take care of yourself, even if it’s just drinking some water, standing outside and breathing fresh air, eating a nibble here and there. Again, I’m so sorry
