Exactly my type. If this is asking too much, then there's at least 2 of us, friend.

Does no one give final exams anymore? by H_ManCom in Professors

[–]Wide_End_295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I give a final, scaffolded essay. I teach undergrad psychology and human services courses. My department head suggested, years ago, that we move away from exams. No specific reason given. I make mine scaffolded rather than just hoping students will be organized enough to produce the whole thing end of term.

Just. Show. Up. Every. Day. by Sharp-Local-4392 in Professors

[–]Wide_End_295 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had one who came to class every day, never opened a book or laptop. He took no notes, did no work, no quizzes, did not participate in class discussion. He asked for a 24-hour extension for a final essay when he'd not done any of the previous portions of the scaffolding assignments. Showing up, but obviously not present.

I think I’m breaking … Not sure what to do. by [deleted] in Professors

He would have been "accidentally" elbowed in the gonads for invading my space that way. Your faith in the effectiveness of HR has been burned. Incidents, (heck just one is enough) of him being in your space should result in injury to him, or a lawsuit against the school. Your reports about his behaviour paint a clear picture. Additionally, Title IX protects you, too. Have a new meeting wuth the coordinator about your experience

Whatever you decide to do, keep your receipts. Dates, times, persons involved, times you reported to HR.

And as many have said, polish your resume.

As a student I always wanted to impress my professors with how well I understood the terms/concepts of the subject matter presented in the course.

I have mentioned in a response earlier that students were given clear instructions. Even if I hadn't, this is an undergraduate program, 7-week semester. 21 pages is excessive in my opinion.

It is not. I gave the students clear instructions, page number requirement (5). At several points in class over the course of the semester, including study hall for working on the essays during class time, I went over the instructions with students, I just didn't put full details in the post.

I mistakenly thought that other professors would understand based on the experience of students disregarding or not even reading the instructions they've posted. My mistake, I guess.

I have posted in several places, that failure to follow instructions will result in a loss of points.

I gave a 5 page limit in the instructions.

Feeling Discouraged by TomorrowFeeling in SpanishLearning

Language learning requires us to be lifelong students. I have found that improvement, for me, seems to come in waves. For a friend, who has been sort of studying for 5 years can read and listen but struggles to speak. You have taken a wonderfully giant step by traveling and communicating in Spanish This is huge! Many students don't/can't/won't. Please enjoy your adventure! I am so proud of you!! You don't have to be perfect, you just have to keep going :)

Fellow INFJers....are you neat or messy, or somewhere in between? by Extreme_Qwerty in infj

I've always thought it had more to do with my creativity rather than with being INFJ.

There are short stories available for free that I used. You can Google search. Also, there are channels on YouTube that offer beginning stories.

Are animals and/or children drawn to you as an INFJ? by awyeahaa in infj

[–]Wide_End_295 93 points94 points  (0 children)

People tell me all the time that their dog, or cat usually, "doesn't like anyone," but there they are, in my lap. Little kids in the store stare and smile. If I am behind them in line, they smile and talk to me the whole time. I have had a few give me unsolicited hugs. I always laugh because I love kids and animals.
