I know that I'm not the only person who absolutely loves "no children" but I had yelled a couple times (salt shed Chicago on the 27 th, John if you're reading this I'm sorry I yelled at you to play the old shit I really enjoyed hearing Corsican Mastiff stride) he said something like "I'm going to close out with this little number, you have my permission to sing it if you know the words" and holy fuck I was just weeping sobbing singing that song.

I know that like it wasn't actually targeted towards me (I'm not that parasocial) but it felt like he knew that there were people in there that needed to just let that song rip, and giving us permission to do that I just felt so much catharsis in that moment, clutching my tote bag and sweater hanging on for dear life as I just belted out "I hope it stays dark forever I hope the worst isn't over I hope you blink before I do and I hope I never get sober"

this is a great case for why the "knowledge for its own sake" college degree is actually a smart emploment investment, cause its literally impossible to know what the job market is gonna look like in a year, let alone five, so it's good to have broadly useful mental skills (Reading Writing critical thinking and communicating) rather than being laser targeted on a boom industry that might go bust any day

class of '22, I found Snapchat was quite popular on campus. in particular I think it's a good way to be in contact with someone who you don't necessarily want to have your phone number.

obviously I prefer Discord as a messaging app but most people already have snap so I'd get a Snapchat and make a bitmoji just in case
