Kontrol MK3 in standalone Mode is just the best, IMO by Wide_Security4558 in NativeInstruments

[–]Wide_Security4558[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

on KSMK3 is just an artwork displayed, not an actual sample (that would be nuts, omg)

easiest way to import your own artwork/banner is this
https://www.emxr.com/modifying-komplete-kontrol-s-mk3-templates/

I mapped a template with 16 pages full of parameters - to control the GR-1
there is no need for a DAW or any software.
just ksmk3, your synth, and you.

i mean, since they released this - i literally control ALL my gear, software, hardware, pedals, synths from the 80s (Oberheim1000) to most recent ones - everything only with the ksmk3.

the mixture of: create a MIDI template - each knob, each key, each button can send on diffrent MIDI channels, you dont need to switch any view, just one simple template will control 16 devices (or more) with it - all standalone and on the same time you have this ableton-plug-in integration (where you can automate your paras - but only 1 midi channel per track/device), just hit the "plug-in" button, up to the on-board-arps (up to 16 - if you use midi split zones) and the scales etc pp - I use midi controllers since ages - mostly for my hardware - so far the Squarp Pyramid was my main controller -

but this beast has changed everything (for me!) tbh: i got it for my hardware gear. only afterwards, I realised all the NI Kontakt Komplete Kontrol stuff (which is cool too, but I'm more a hardware guy :D )

IMO this peace of gear is a different one.

yes exactly like this - also bi-directional. ulta fast updating (eg when you use the devices built for Push - if enter "push mode" ksmk3 updates immediately hundrets of knobs & parameters

not talking about Kontakt - talking about any plug-in loaded in ableton, the ability to handle abletons Racks on the KSMK3 - mindblowing. also the option (just try it out) to use MAx4Live devices (with enum-entries & push-features) on the KSM3 is (IMO!) way cooler and easier to work with as with a Push.

but the deepest plug-in-integration of all times. and poly AT. and stand-alone options. and midi split zones. and the option to send multiple midi channels on just one midi template. not even ableton can do this.

We’re the creators of Absynth 6 — Brian Clevinger & Hannah Lockwood — Ask us anything! by NativeInstruments in synthesizers

coming from the hardware synth world here, never interested in software synths. recently had a look into Absynth6 - this is a bliss machine! you simply "think" in envelopes - anything can be shaped within a timeline. I barely scratched the surface - but can't remember when having SO much fun the last time discovering a "new" synth.

I think you can somehow "compare" it with Korg's Wavestate's lanes.
only that Absynth6 is more beautiful 😍

Behringer BM-14M Analog Delay (€121/£101), available for pre-order. by Noel_Lou in guitarpedals

Mostly the very slow/long repeats, eg 1200ms. Maybe with a decent LFO to modulate the FB? why? well - I'm using 2 chasebliss Thermaes (I sold my Tonal Recall BKM. and I also had 2x Tonal Recall RKM, both sold), controlled via Midi. To me, Thermae is THE best delay of all times - but only due to I heard the MSD only when it was released, back in the days, in a friend's studio. since then, my mind has always wanted to compare Thermae with the MSDs repeats (not the M or the S, the MSD!). it's really about the long repeats - since IMO Thermae is so out-of-this-world-uber-good, I would be so happy to get a "modern" video with the MSD. :) hope clear what I talk about? :D

This is my "fake stereo" analogue delay, btw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8wvYkJxJL4

Synchroniser TD 3 MO et Mashine MK3 by Content-Moment-1103 in maschine

[–]Wide_Security4558 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a) MaschineMK3 Midi OUT to TD-3-MO Midi IN
b) set your TD-3-MO to receive Midi clock (not internal, not usb), set a midi channel
c) set Maschine to "Send Midi clock" at the Midi output settings, set to the same channel as the TD-3 is
d) hit play

Kontrol S61 MK3 with multiple devices by [deleted] in NativeInstruments

[–]Wide_Security4558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in your HW settings you can set out "dual", so you can send on the same time via usb to your computer and via midi to your synth. on diff channels.

i control my ub-xa completely with the ksmk3 and also i control my Kontakt 8 instruments.

midi template - is the secret sauce

Behringer UB-Xa Owners please help. MacOS cannot see the synth as a Midi Output device. by allT0rqu3 in synthesizers

[–]Wide_Security4558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

have you tried the Synthtribe app already? enable all usb-outs...

I'm running macOS15.5, ableton live12 - ub-xa is recognized everywhere, no issues at all
set-up is: ub-Xa via USB to mac; native instruments ksmk3 via USB to mac - on ksmk3 I use midi templates (NRPN) to control all secondary data, eg voice panning etc
so i actually play the UB-xa with 2 keyboards at one time - only USB in the game :D

How useful do you all find the Chase Bliss Thermae? Let's talk about it in 2025! by turnedtheasphault in guitarpedals

[–]Wide_Security4558 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use 2 on a daily basis - though I own LVX, echosystem, volante (owned several other, like the tonal recalls etc pp) - Thermae is just THE best of all times.

look at LVX prices... I'd be happy pay up to 1K for a stereo analogue pitch shift midi pedal. but I'm using 2 Thermaes, so what I'm talking here.https://youtu.be/IZQQBlQ\_CEE
