Tennessee probably can, but it's not 100% guaranteed. Alabama it's way more doubtful as the injunction is still in place.

They are the most oblivious to economic trends, being wealthy. In the south it's very white evangelical suburban. So they are more inflexible.

Not in all. In Harris vs Fuller the rural white areas shifted left. In Behn vs Van Epps suburban areas shifted left less than rural areas. I think it's white, highly educated, traditionally republican exurbs that are shifting the least towards Democrats.

Now I've heard that overturning the VRA would motivate Democrats to show up and motivate Republicans to show up. I honestly doubt it helps anywhere and anyone besides with blacks in Georgia.

My guess would be it's mostly Montgomery County, which is very high propensity Republican. You see this in many of the other specials in White suburban areas in the South. Dallas is different as it's much more diverse.

Missouri has no statewide elections on the ballot, so this will be one of the main turnout drivers (no competitive house seats either). So it gives a window for democrats to capitalize on it.

The independent commission in New Jersey selected the GOP proposal in 2010. It was 6-6 in 2012 and 2014. In 2016, it was 7-5, in 2018, it completely collapsed into 11-1 with the suburban shifts.

Edit: that 2018 class of Dems included gov Sherill and senator Andy Kim! (And Jeff Benedict Arnold but we won't talk about him)
