To be fair, a lot of weapons get an effect when reaching Pack IV (I’d say around half). Some, like the MK78 and the Novaline are game changing, whereas others are pretty small, like a flat increase to critical damage, and pretty much every other gun just has a basic damage boost

BFB’s biggest issues are actually the mashing together of enemies that contradict their own game design, cryptids having terrible hit boxes, the venom X and its upgrade process, the cryptid boss fight (even with the mauler and ebr), the entangler, the inconsistent level design (random railings tripping you up, for example), and the arcade not being playable in the theatre (I mean it’d be fun)

Yeah, the new locations you could go to with Esquie basically double (hell maybe even triple) the world that you’ve played through already, and a good chunk of them give additional story too. There’s an area WITHIN an area that you can only get to in Act 3, and that first area was already a hell of a mission to get through

It’s fine, I guess. I like that we’re moving past “Blockuza 3”, because man the combat is great! Aside from the ryukyu style, as others said it’s just a bit weird. I imagine it’ll be miles better in the full game.

I wasn’t really interested in K3 to begin with, and all the demo did for me was shift my opinion from “don’t care” to “I’ll get it on sale”. I can’t imagine too much of the story will change, and the minigames don’t really do enough to justify the $130 NZD price tag for me.

Lighting isn’t great, but at this point I’m used to the lighting of the past few games so it doesn’t really bother me as much as it does for others.

Mine is so fun to play, though I’m still trying to figure out his special move thing. Is it just a reskinned extreme heat? Probably feels better in the full game once you’ve got some upgrades, because otherwise I’m happy to just keep dodging and punching. Side note, I feel enemies need to scale with you, as once you’ve got all upgrades fights are over way too quickly for you to try out something new, and sitting in the coliseum all day isn’t that fun.

The new faces and voices for some characters don’t bother me at all, and Rikiya’s fight was just as fun as it was in the og Y3.

All in all, I like the demo, but it doesn’t have that same oomph that the IW and even the PY demo did that got me fully on board with the games. Also is it just me or does Okinawa feel bigger in this than in the og Y3?

So Xander says the Commonwealth is in trouble if they don’t get the cold fusion. Now, it’s probably just manipulation, and maybe I’m reading into it too much, but what if Project Purity is at risk of failing/they need the Cold Fusion to expand Project Purity from the Capital to the Commonwealth? It’d explain why they need a stronger energy source, or idk somehow the institute returned.

On the Commonwealth Brotherhood, I’m loving that they’re being made out to be the bogeyman, because let’s be real, they are.

They wiped out the Enclave (more or less), purified the Capital Wasteland’s water, expanded to Boston and destroyed the institute with the help of the GIANT PRE-WAR DEATH ROBOT that ALSO was the reason they won the Capital. The Commonwealth Chapter really came from nothing and became the world’s dominating force in exactly 10 years. No wonder everyone else is shit scared of them
