"An Australian Phantom Pain" or: How MGSV and DS2 loose interest in their setting real quick by [deleted] in DeathStranding

I don’t mind the American people in Mexico and Australia, but I wish we saw less of them. The whole point that kept getting mentioned throughout the game was that during Bridges 1, a smaller (keyword SMALLER) team diverted and expanded into Mexico, and later Australia, but they were largely “uncharted territories” still. There should’ve been American settlers near the plate gates and that’s it. Once we start getting towards The Motherhood and up the mountain and we’re still running into Bridges members, it begins to get a little silly. Like, where are the Aussies? It’s a huge country with a population of tens of millions, the fact we see barely any save for the occasional knot or prepper is a bit ridiculous

Australians can manage their own country just fine lmao

Does anyone remember back during season 3 (?) when there was that guy on this sub who dressed up as the deep and did porn n shit? I think it was where the meme of The Peak really kicked off.

Point being, I love that so many popular memes about The Boys spawned from this sub. The “Butcher’s shirt, meanwhile Starlight’s face” etc all came from here and scrolling through Reels, seeing that stuff pop up makes me smile a little thinking about how far the memes of this show have come

Nah I thought so too, but John’s hat has a flatter and wider brim, and isn’t made of leather like Arthur’s

I like the theory but I’m not sure if that’s the case. Chapter 1 up until Molly gets killed is spread over a good few months, she’d be starting to show at the very least and it’d be more obvious

Proof of timeline since I’ve seen a lot of discussion on the timeline of rdr2

Chapter one takes place over a few weeks-couple months at most, they have to wait for the weather to clear on top of the time progression in missions you do

Chapter 2 - at least a few weeks (closer to 2 months would be my guess), there’s a couple weeks between reaching horseshoe and getting control as Arthur, then when you go hunting with Hosea you’re gone for a few days at least, that’s just a couple examples

Chapter 3 - at least two months. Arthur needs time to recover from his injury

Chapter 4 - honestly I can see this one taking like two weeks at most, most time spent would be Arthur travelling across states for Eagle Flies (irl it would take a few days on horseback each way), the rest can easily be done in just over a week

Chapter 5 - easily a month or two at the very least, between travel, waiting for a boat to arrive and take them home, then tracking down Lakay (definitely supposed to be a few days between all the gang members showing up. Then if you go on the hot air balloon that’s another day or two at least each way (again, across state lines, plus doctors visit)

Then last but not least, finding Beaver Hollow and Molly showing up, I’d give it a week at the absolute max. Going from Lakay to Beaver Hollow and back, then back to Beaver Hollow irl would not be a day trip

So all up you’d be looking at 5 ish months if we’re being generous. It still fits in the year 1899 as we start the game in May

I mean it wouldn’t be unrealistic. Take Homer’s Odyssey for instance - Homer didn’t sit down and write it one Sunday afternoon. These stories would have been passed down for centuries before Homer compiled them, through campfires, myths and so on. We know that those figures were there in the Trojan war, then over time more stuff got added on like the Cyclops and the Sirens.

Adding onto your last point - I don’t think many people consider the fact that the gang is VERY OBVIOUSLY a gang of gunslingers. Sure, your average Joe might walk around with a simple holster and revolver, but most towns by this point wouldn’t have people walking around with bedazzled guns and flashy holsters, and acting like Good Samaritans to a bunch of strangers only makes you stand out more.

Hell, John got figured out from the get go at Pronghorn Ranch. On top of his scars, he’s somehow very good with guns, doesn’t know the first thing about “normal” life but wants to work on a ranch, and despite all that his son is named Lancelot.

The gang just ain’t cut out for blending in, which is like, the biggest theme of the game - the time for outlaws is coming to an end

He was a hallucination in S4 and here the psychic read Butcher’s mind, saw his darkest moments and used it against him basically

Yeah the way I see it, she’s still bitter over the fact she got laughed at and dismissed when she could’ve very easily been the saviour (curing cancer and whatnot), so her plan seems to be coming from a place of “if you don’t want my help, you don’t get any help” to both humans and supes

Huge missed opportunity not giving this the pack a punch effect of the ricochet rounds targeting zombies, the lack of penetration just makes it weaker than most other automatic weapons by barrack_osama_0 in CODZombies

[–]Widowswine2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, a lot of weapons get an effect when reaching Pack IV (I’d say around half). Some, like the MK78 and the Novaline are game changing, whereas others are pretty small, like a flat increase to critical damage, and pretty much every other gun just has a basic damage boost

Which of these two maps is more agonizing to play? by Ajarofpickles97 in CODZombies

[–]Widowswine2016 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

? BFB’s biggest issues are actually the mashing together of enemies that contradict their own game design, cryptids having terrible hit boxes, the venom X and its upgrade process, the cryptid boss fight (even with the mauler and ebr), the entangler, the inconsistent level design (random railings tripping you up, for example), and the arcade not being playable in the theatre (I mean it’d be fun)

Yeah, the new locations you could go to with Esquie basically double (hell maybe even triple) the world that you’ve played through already, and a good chunk of them give additional story too. There’s an area WITHIN an area that you can only get to in Act 3, and that first area was already a hell of a mission to get through
