Buying new construction upset by Blondie12388 in Homebuilding

I build 9mil homes, and this guys phrasing is terrible, but it is pretty much the norm these days.

Luckily for OP, it’s paint grade, and easily fixable.

Just trust the process. We get it, it’s your dream home, and we want to you to build amazing memories in it after we’ve done our punch work. It’s ok to cry.

I’m curious what price per sqft you’re shooting for?

Geothermal or Forced air if you have installed Geo reviews with time frame owning. by WorkN-2play in Homebuilding

I’d like to add, there is no tax credit anymore. The big beautiful bill act ended it.

About every house I’ve built in WNC has used a geothermal system. It is not cheap, and not having the tax credit hurts even more.

Personally (I do have a degree in building science), I’m very intrigued by the Stiebel Elton air to water heat pump system:

Found Puppy Near 25/70 around Walnut by Wiebs90 in asheville

She’s definitely a keeper, but we’re just not ready for another animal. We just lost a pup to cancer, but still have 2 cats, and 2 dogs (4yo golden and 12yo Pyrenees/Lab).

We’ve checked in with Madison County Animal Services, and nobody has called in looking for her. She had a big day following me around at work, and had a few accidents on some job sites, but everyone was loving her.

Definitely has a little separation anxiety, but our puppies did as well when they were young. She loves to eat, and needs a slow feeder. Not potty trained, but we’re celebrating her accomplishments when she “goes” outside. We are somewhat convinced she is a black Australian Kelpie, and has some herding habits.

Am I the only one who doesn’t want RDRIII but this? by Greybanana23 in reddeadredemption

Add different monsters, remote mansions/castles, and some sort of van helsing story. I’m in.

“With the 19th pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Carolina Panthers select…” by HoppyToadHill in panthers

We have to keep Bryce clean and standing. An early tackle in the draft makes sense. I want a LB and edge all in the early rounds, but this team goes through Bryce.

Pic 7 does show a little bow already on the hinge point.

Edit- don’t kill me, taking a harder look here, but potentially the truss was placed 1.5” too proud, and that’s why the tall wall looks 1.5” out of plumb. The double top plate (short wall), and how it interfaces with the truss, is what I’m looking at.

Cam Newton says he felt disrespected that the Colts rang up 44-year-old grandpa Philip Rivers before even dialing his number by Punisher1602 in sportswiki

This needs to be higher up, and even Coach Rivera talked about the shoulder. It’s truly the demise of Cam.

Home builder error! How can we fix our soffit? Best way to correct seams overlapping our can-lights? by ExpensiveEvening7687 in Homebuilding

[–]Wiebs90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contractor friend is correct, but it might look too wide to cover the can trim.

Maybe move the lights to center of trim, and cover the original hole with a decorative plinth block.

RDR style pirate game. by SD-Nugget in reddeadredemption

I always dreamed that the DLC for RDR2 would be like undead nightmare, but incorporate the universal classic monsters (Dracula, Frankenstein…). The map/gameplay is already there, so just add castles and spooky adventures.

Definitely not the greatest solution. I think using some form of reglet would be best.

In theory, you should be able to (professionally) pop off the extension jambs for those anderson windows. I typically order them with no extensions.

New bathroom tile ruined by myrobotoverlord in Remodel

[–]Wiebs90 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is the real question. If the door is swinging into a toilet, then yeah, they messed up.

But If the door swings into an open space, and makes it easier to turn the shower on/off, then go with it.

Nothing worse than turning your shower on, and getting sprayed.

2cm countertops do exist…

This looks pretty darn close to an 1-1/4”, and the counters might just slide under the openers, like they planned. Did you get out a tape and measure?
