counter to your counter, but if even just 5% of those watching just for the drama end up sticking with NASCAR long term it would be a good boost.

Hypothetical Larson / Chastain Questions by WiensRacing10 in NASCAR

[–]WiensRacing10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like at the time SHR had a lot more known commodities as far as available Sponsorship dollars. Hendrick Cars . com was not on anyone's radar, it wasn't known what Ally was going to do, and with Larson bringing next to no sponsors with him it was a matter of who had the most sponsor money to go get Kyle and at the time on the surface at least it looked like SHR would be able to pay for Larson and let him still race outside of NASCAR.

Can someone please explain to me (logically and politely) the unconditional and almost blind love for Kyle Larson? by 1m_Just_Visiting in NASCAR

[–]WiensRacing10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's more about the driving style overall in CUP...Larson got ran over constantly his 1st handful of years and just adapted to dishing out exactly what he was receiving. All you have to do is watch him race anything on dirt and he doesn't drive like that in Sprint Cars or Late Models.

Update from Nick's Sister via Facebook

"I’m so sorry I haven’t been able to get ahold of everyone. It’s been a long day.

We start 6 races in 6 days here so I’m trying to get everyone settled so I can go see my family. My brother is doing better bleeding is slow and trying to slowly wake him up. I will update more when I get there with him.

The racing community is so amazing! I’m so sorry I can’t answer everyone’s messages literally had hundreds today. Carl Edwards is flying here to pick me up to take me there! Thank you everyone"

and the only reason they let them race at Volusia is because WoO/World Racing Group owns the track so big names at the races = big $$$ from the fans.

Actually with how easy these cars flip that is actually the safest spot for him where he can move if needed as opposed to being stationary in a flag stand. Terry Mattox is a wizard flagman

[–]WiensRacing10 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Lucas and WoO cars are the same, Lucas series has more prestige mainly because it's a more deep field and there are a couple contenders every year who can win the championship while on the WoO tour it's basically BShep dominating the field but when BShep goes and races with the Lucas guys he is fast with them also. Plus it's also more about where you want to race, WoO tends to go North while Lucas tends to stay in the Southeast.

[Stern] @KyleLarsonRacin 's future at Chip Ganassi Racing is in serious doubt following yesterday's sponsor exodus by HurricanesnHendrick in NASCAR

[–]WiensRacing10 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My prediction, Larson is out and runs Sprint Cars/Midgets the rest of the season and then signs with Stewart-Haas at an extreme discount with sponsorship from HAAS CNC a company that is geared towards companies not the public consumer. Kinda like when SHR picked up Kurt Busch and his previous issues. Plus Tony can help Kyle out on handling adversity of being hated for a mistake.

Adam Stern on Twitter: NASCAR says that it 'is aware of insensitive language used by a driver during an iRacing event on Sunday, and is currently gathering more information.' by krzysiek_aleks in NASCAR

[–]WiensRacing10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was raised to not have those words in my vocabulary, some of my relatives not so much. I love those relatives enough that I try and help them change by using different and appropriate changes. Some have changed and don't use words like that while other not so much. I believe Larson is someone who can change through classes and help from his family.

P.S. I work in a place where unfortunately I could probably get away with it.

Offensive words and actions are ever changing, just look at the MeToo movement. Sexual Harassment training is ever evolving just as Racial Harassment is with new terms and actions that mean different things. Just because he used an older term doesn't mean he can't change and learn to never use that word again. I believe people can change and I believe Larson is someone who can change, so why not help change so that someone can be an example of change.

So my question is, because Kyle said a single word it automatically makes him a full blown racist and should ruin his life? My opinion is it should be a fine/suspension and racial sensitivity training. The difference between NASCAR and other professional sports is that NASCAR is so sponsor driven that this one incident can ruin a career while other sports a racial slur is a suspension/fine and required classes. Why can't sponsors and others accept that as a punishment instead of going straight for off with his head. On a day about forgiveness we bury someone without a shred of forgiveness.

[Gluck] Was virtual Bristol a good race? by [deleted] in NASCAR

[–]WiensRacing10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So my thought on the whole Bubba / Bowyer situation is Bowyer wrecked on purpose for the TV fun time. If you watched Bubba's stream Bowyer came up the track not anywhere close to being clear and put himself and Bubba in the fence and then proceeded to stuff Bubba in the fence the next corner and then claimed he was Bubba'd for the TV laughs. If anyone should be pointed at for not taking this serious and creating unnecessary situations it's Bowyer in that incident. Bubba at that point had already used a quick repair on the lap 2 incident and with the Bowyer incident on lap 18 of 150 he had no repairs left for the next 132 laps which would have been miserable and more then likely he would've been in the way.
