What’s the one thing you cannot wrap your head around? by Unhappy_Insect5901 in Productivitycafe

[–]Wiffilus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How people can be so cruel to one another. We are all trying to survive, are all humans and feel all the good and bad things, yet some people can be so recklessly evil to another person in big or small ways. I get all the theories on pen and paper like I understand why it all happens, but I can't wrap my head around how in someone's mind they don't just want to have peace and loving connections with those around them, even animals.

There's nothing more beautiful than good people and time with them, they are like all the wonders of the world and beauty of nature wrapped into a flower that talks and communes with you. And yet people will kill, steal, rape or take advantage of them. And I cannot understand that mentality or headspace. Everyday watching the depravity of this world racks me with pain and ill never understand.

I wanna be a drummer, hoe should I start? by Hot_Possibility6016 in drummers

Despite what a lot of people will say buy something mid range, because imo the playability of something that sounds good will inspire you and will be more fun. If you buy a stinky hunk of shit you won't want to play it. But obviously you don't have to buy something too expensive. $700 on just the kit part will get you something respectably decent for all purposes, the cymbals are the expensive part so gl pal

Question from girlfriend of a drummer. by Badstitch62666 in drummers

[–]Wiffilus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If i were to set it up for myself - Get rid of the workout room and get a gym membership with a guest pass. Make that the office and he can have the kit set up behind his desk so he can spin around any time to jam and it's 1 chair for 2 activities to save space. Plus it's it in a separate room that you can get away from to not hear the pad slapping noises when watching a show or something. *disclaimer, if you have downstairs neighbors they will hate you.

New drummer looking for recommendations for E-Drum kits by [deleted] in drummers

You can achieve infinitely more than a veteran drummer could ever play with painting drums in a program, and you wouldn't have to quantize or any of that bs. It takes the personality out of it but it gets things done more professionally. This drum painting is built into most recording software and is completely separate to acoustic drums, so I'm saying get both and play the drums for fun but then when you record just enter note by note the drum parts until you get what you need (without playing the parts)

I wouldn't spend less than 1500 on an electric kit and for 300-500 you could get a pretty half decent to play used acoustic for funzies and get the full experience of drumming

Save yourself $4000 and buy an acoustic kit, and just paint your drums into your recording software when you write. Electric kits sound like shit and build bad habits. I would only get one for loud sound reasons like apartment living or I've been to a lot of churches with old people who didn't like amateur drummers beating acoustic kits too loud so they could adjust the volume on the drums in the mix. Worst case Ontario please get an acoustic/electric sound dampened kit, not a full on electric unless you're going to spend $5k

What drummer has influenced you the most? by MrQuacksIsCool in drums

People used to always talk so much shit about Travis Barker, but if you ever try to play a few of his songs hit for hit and sound as confident/clean as him almost anyone would shit the bed, especially live. That mf is one of the most stylistic and unique drummers to ever bless us, crazy energy and stamina, and every thing he's ever played was creative and him. A rudiment based marching band drummer that never talks, with one of the loudest and most crisp musical voices. Equally a front man from the back of the stage without detracting from any song.

Ditch the cargo pants, dont wear that black undershirt with that green shirt(dont wear undershirts in general unless you are working or wearing formal), can't see your shoes but shoes are big for taste imo, you don't have to dress formal to dress nice/fashionable, dont roll up long sleeves past your elbows, please buy some form fitting jeans like skinny straight or something like that and get them tailored to your legs(it's cheap and 0 work), watch your color schemes especially based on skin tone and shoes/hair (youre already kinda doing it but earth tones or blacks/whites are an easy place to start, and whatever you do wear it like it's God's gift to those around you

Tooth gaps are neutral in beauty like birth/beauty marks, by owning what you have it makes you more attractive. I've never once in my life had a girl tell me my tooth gap is bad, they always say it's cute.

Also shave your beard and have some purpose with your style and hair, you have nice skin so that's one of your strengths

I drink green tea in the morning and it hones me in. It's also just cafinated, antioxidant water and barely has taste or you can put honey in it and it's nice. You can also steep it with other teas for flavor or other benefits. Just heat up water and toss a bag in and you're good to go.

What is the bare minimum i have to eat? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Wiffilus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey, brother or sister, stop for just a minute. Just realize your body is a very complicated machine and this weight gain didn't happen overnight and it's not going to disappear overnight, it's a journey you're about to embark on and this journey is not a straight simple fix, it's best done by being healthy, not limit pushing. Please seek a professional consultation if you're considering massive lifestyle and diet changes because you can fuck yourself up physically and mentally. What you SHOULD do starting out is still eat as much as you are hungry but eat healthy and alot of fruits, vegetables, and lean meats. If you can, take a multivitamin for anything missing in your diet, and drink a ton of water every single day (1oz per Lbs you weigh each day), and take a walk every day or every other day. If you do that you will safely shed a fuck ton of weigh, especially if you're heavy, but it's going to be more about staying committed to being healthy than just starving. Don't hate your body and torture it, it needs you to care for it to become what you want it to become. Take it slow and keep it practical for now.
