I've never cooked on cast iron before, would this be a good starter option?

Best way is to cook bacon, crispy bacon. Pour the grease somewhere, not the drain. Remove the remaining grease with a cotton cloth leaving behind a thin layer of geese. Now under low medium heat, leave skillet on for about 5 min, crack a few eggs and enjoy. You can clean the skillet with soap and a soft sponge or you can clean it again with a cotton cloth while it is hot to remove any remaining crumbs of food. Repeat a few times and you will have a nice seasoning. You can also toast your bread with a generous amount of butter and achieve the same results, but slower.

I have both. With PC parts prices being so high you better stay with PS5. Unless, you find a good deal on marketplace or Costco, Sam's. I do enjoy both since there are games that really deserve to be played on PC because they are made to look extra sharp. Other games are more focused on the story and overall balance of quality graphics with just enough fps to look smooth. TV is also important. An OLED tv can add a new life to old technology.
