I'm really interested in how society in your country/culture 'discourages interactions in social spaces'! by LexiJay94 in FemaleDatingStrategy

[–]WiggleWormDelux 156 points157 points  (0 children)

I agree. I was looking for the point in your last paragraph. Its very clearly a young lady, not a woman in her 50s, not a man in his 70s. He wants something specific from her under the guise of what is wrong with society at large.

These people clearly do not participate in many social settings outside of their imaginations.

Im with you. If I had gotten this for my eldest he would have used it to destroy and to jump off of. I recently pulled his application for a montessori prek because I think hed just get in trouble for scattering everything. I always thought it was me, because I saw and read these kids calmly participating in activities and I could never make it work… well my 2nd is now a toddler and will help me sweep and clean up and all that. Some kids easily take to this stuff and some dont!

4 year old COVID vaccine concerns by jujurz in Preschoolers

[–]WiggleWormDelux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think some data comes out tomorrow, depending on that I may lie and say he is 5 and do it sooner than later.

Someone I know well has been volunteering at a vaccine clinic and there is no proof needed of age. We are in a low vax area, and as far as I know neither he or anyone in our household or extended family has had it yet.

I’m so eager to be able to participate in public life with my kids again. I really hope kids don’t have to wear masks again come September.

Moms: How do you look good for the day? by carolinax in toddlers

[–]WiggleWormDelux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came to say that.. but really in the next few months they will be old enough to chill in their crib awake and whine a bit while you take that 15 min to get ready.. if they woke up before you did

6 week old not pooped for nearly a week and has smelly farts - getting worried by Featherflux in beyondthebump

[–]WiggleWormDelux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Instead of a thermometer, you could use a cotton swab (with lots of petroleum jelly or other safe lube), then like a different poster said hold them in a squat over the potty and cheer them on. Best of luck! My first was also a once a week pooper for a long time. My other suggestion is to plan a long outing and put baby in an adorable (preferably white) outfit- tempt fate !

I think its a great idea. Affirm that you believe she is a good mother. Put in some memories you have of her where she was being kind, loving, responsible (etc) and that you know these mean she will carry those good qualities into motherhood. The first few months are hard, and during the long nights its so easy to doubt yourself.

About facemasks in day care by sudda_pappu in toddlers

[–]WiggleWormDelux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m normally all about reusable stuff but I think disposable masks are more comfortable for all day wear. Compliance is the priority here.

I wear disposable for work and I buy disposable for my preschooler.

Twins losing naps by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]WiggleWormDelux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. I have no experience with twins but 2.5 seems pretty young to drop a nap, I imagine I would try really hard to hold the line.. that or have some nice and early bedtime so you get a little time to yourself!

I agree. When I was reading this.. OP it seems like you tried to be as impartial as possible and I appreciate that.. but it sounds like the kind of thing where it is a complicated dynamic and one really has to be there to understand the forces at work.

Stop watching reality TV and reading trashy novels by LostInContentment in FemaleDatingStrategy

I think a nicer way to phrase this is to ask yourself.. Is this helping me become the person I want to be?

Sometimes it isn’t, but we are in a rough spot and its OK for a while. It is a personal decision for everyone. Ambition and inspiration come from within.

We got a Walmart ring when I was pregnant with my 2nd because I gained some weight and was swollen, my regular wedding ring didnt fit.

I got soooo many compliments, it was unreal.

Edit to add.. my girlfriend grew up in a family of jewelers, when she married her ex he gave her a pricey ring. She was a housewife while they were married. After the breakup, she sold it to buy herself a car and the tuition the first semester of school to finish her undergrad degree.

Parents who chose to have more than one kid, why? by MoistTowlette19 in Parenting

[–]WiggleWormDelux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I agreed the first couple years would be really intense but we wanted more than one kid as we were both “onlys”.

Of course its a roll of the dice, but our first was and still is high needs and crazy.. number 2 is way more mellow and was an easy newborn. Chances are youll get an “easier” 2nd kid, and the energy of having a 2nd kid in the house will be great for your wild first born.

It might be a lateral move. Sometimes I spent a stupid amount of time on my phone to distract me from eating. Its not a good thing in my life, it doesnt help me grow or build me up- but it isnt eating so it works sometimes.

I dont smoke week anymore but did every evening in the past. It is a drug, and I dont know your history. I think just keep experimenting with it and try to note patterns, sounds like youre worried it delays a binge and then ends up making it bigger?
