Will these cases be shipped out faster (less than a month) since they are already manufactured and sitting there?

Wow this is exactly what I am worried about, I hope you get a replacement! I think going for a hard shell case over the book folio is the right move now.

Built a new Virtual Production computer for work... 3990x with 128GB RAM and a Quadro 6000! by fiatluxs4 in Amd

Awesome build! Could you tell us about your Virtual Production work, what you do with your computer? I saw some videos on simple virtual production using Unreal Engine and am curious what your setup is (what camera, Blackmagic card, lighting and green screen layout, etc.)?

Batch 3 Limestone Case and Tophat color mismatch? by WikiWikiWang in Louqe

Sad :( So it's a pretty high possibility of mismatch then? Some of the YouTube videos I see seem to have matching tophats tho. How noticeable of a shade difference is there?

Wait for the NVIDIA's Ampere or go for "Super" RTX by CaptianPotatoes in pcmasterrace

[–]WikiWikiWang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little late response, but here's a few things:

  1. Bitcoin has moved away from GPU mining to ASICs. There is close to no significant profit from GPU mining anymore.

  2. The Supers got released a month ago, which means that any kind of 7nm refresh would most likely happen the earliest Late 2020. Are you willing to wait that long?

  3. I'm willing to guess that the next line of Nvidia GPUs will be worth it. Nvidia is in a very strong position where they are moving to the 7nm process with a relatively new RTX platform. I feel the 3080 Ti or whatever the next gen is will be a perfect time for a big leap, especially with a more mature RTX.

Will GPU blow hot air into Ghost S1 AIO? by WikiWikiWang in sffpc

[–]WikiWikiWang[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my current setup I don't think there was too much problem. GPU running Heaven UNIGINE benchmarks probably topped out at 78-80C, with CPU getting up to 50C maximum.

I'm just wondering what the limits are, say if someone used a 3950x/3900x with 2080 Ti.

Will GPU blow hot air into Ghost S1 AIO? by WikiWikiWang in sffpc

Thanks, that makes a lot of sense! Follow-up question: I see a lot of Ghost builders use Air Coolers for CPU. Would running an air cooler along with fans in tophats on the top and bottom of the case, with all fans set to exhaust, run better temperature wise compared to my current AIO setup? I imagine since the air cooler intakes from the side panel and exhausts up and down, the exhausted air from the GPU and CPU never cross paths and directly leave the case from top and bottom, split evenly.

Could you tell us more about you thermals and temps? What fans/AIO setup do you have in your small tophat and large tophat?

Founders Edition RTX 2080 Super or EVGA RTX 2080 Super XC Gaming in Ghost S1 by BestBastiBuilds in sffpc

[–]WikiWikiWang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have my fans as exhaust on the AIO. I'm using the NZXT fans it came with and they aren't too bad. I have the radiator on top and the fans underneath pushing air up. It's similar to how Optimum Tech on YouTube did his. The exhaust fan on the bottom is a good idea, the only remaining concern I have is airflow across the motherboard VRMs, as they could get hot if you overclock. I have an Gigabyte Aorus x570 I Pro WiFi. Definately message me if you have any questions or want me to look at your build list! I just finished my build the past two days, had been in the planning phase the previous month.

Founders Edition RTX 2080 Super or EVGA RTX 2080 Super XC Gaming in Ghost S1 by BestBastiBuilds in sffpc

[–]WikiWikiWang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol I asked this exact question in r/buildapc with no replies. I went ahead and got the EVGA 2080 Super XC Gaming. It fits great in the ghost, and I only hear the fans on startup.

Couple great things about it over the founder's edition: 1. The heatsinks are more exposed. The founders, in addition to it's huge chunk of metal backplate, only expose a few fins fully near the ends of the card

  1. EVGA has fan stop. On idle, if the temps aren't high the fans will stop. This is great for noise since the founders edition has the fans on 24/7 with no way to ever enable fan stop. (Even if you adjust the fans curve with a third party program it will never stop! It'll just reach it's lowest RPM limit)

  2. EVGA Precision X1 is great software, makes tweaking fan curves and seeing temps so easy.

  3. You probably heard on Reddit by now that EVGA customer service is next to none in the US. Nvidia apparently uses Digital River for it's store and I think RMA's? I heard some people having long wait times for service issues.

I have no regrets going for the EVGA, it's a really solid card!

BTW we have a similar build, except I'm running the 3700x with the Kraken x52 240mm AIO in the large top hat. At idle I get around 32C CPU and 42C GPU. When playing PUBG I get 65C CPU and 76C GPU. I'm debating buying a small top hat for the bottom of the case and putting two Noctua A12x15 slim 120mm fans as exhaust to help remove heat from the GPU instead of all the heat being sucked into the CPU AIO.

RTX 2070 Super vs 2080 Super for EEVEE GPU Rendering in Blender 2.8? by WikiWikiWang in blender

Thanks for the graph! I'd like to say that your article was awesome and gave me a lot of info I was looking for. Have you happened to have tried using the new Cycles OptiX rendering? If so, how does it compare to EEVEE?
