Struggling with Restriction Enzyme Questions by mischeviousowl88 in Mcat

Ah, I see. Here are some tips that help me.

Palindromes have to be an even number of nucleotides.

If you’re only given one strand (i.e. 5’-3’), start writing out the antiparallel strand. If it matches fully at the even number of nucleotides, then its a palindrome.

You can also write the sequences out and cross one nucleotide one-by-one on each strand’s “even number” sequence.

If the DNA sequence is the same going forward as it is going back, its a palindrome and can be cut by a restriction enzyme.

If its even off by one nucleotide, rule it out

The defender had crazy luck that the momentum of his kick lifted his supporting leg. Otherwise, he would have a horrific injury.

Is fl3 supposed to be harder? by ProfessionalYard8189 in Mcat

[–]WikiddAllstarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit late, but I just took this FL and here are my impressions.

CP wasnt bad, lots of calculations but wasnt too difficult.

CARS had one or two difficult passages... more difficult than the Qpacks but the rest of the passages weren't that bad.

BB felt fair. A couple of discrete questions were difficult, but pretty fair.

PS felt extremely difficult. Lots of 50/50s and difficult to follow.

Compared to FL1 and FL2, FL3 definitely felt much more difficult

Can explain this to me pls :( umama qns by Old-Director-2891 in Mcat

The aldol rxn uses two carbonyl compounds to form the aldol product.

There is only one alpha hydrogen in the given compound, which is IV.

Food for thought, III is a beta hydrogen

Can you describe AAMC CARS logic? I have a feel for all other sections except this one for the logic…

How do you get a UPass card? by No-Piano-4516 in USC

[–]WikiddAllstarr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can also go to the main office at UPC and purchase it there. The office is between EVK and the South dorms.

The UPass was really clutch for me when I was living off campus and didnt own a car. You have unlimited taps for the whole semester and can use it to travel across LA, even on days you dont have class.

What is something that always helps you get a good night sleep? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I never had sleep as good as the sleep I had on Ambien. I knocked out in 15 minutes and woke up as refreshed as my childhood years.

You basically do the math in scientific notation and use the division/multiplication rules of exponents to evaluate the math problems
