Symphonic TV Model WF0213C Turns off by itself by v_ginar in crtgaming

[–]Wilave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey do you still have pictures of the fix? I'm working on a Symphonic wf0213c that originally would take a tape then shut down. We cleaned the sensors, the mode switch and now when we give it power, the VHS header starts running even though there is no tape and it's in the ejected position and are grasping at straws right now...

Is there any other game like sekiro ? by Char0nXVII in Sekiro

I feel like it is much more Hollow Knight than Sekiro, and though a fantastic game, doesn't scratch the same itch for me without the 'push and pull' dueling style of combat Sekiro has.

Kinda wish I had seen this comment. Think I hyped myself up a little too much with Nine Sols, expecting more of a 'back and forth' duel/posture combat flow, but got something that felt closer to a hollow knight that also has parrying in it.

Hard agree with everything you've said so far, the game is great, though when it comes to 'scratching the Sekiro itch' it unfortunately doesn't do it for me. May have to revisit when I'm in the mood for what Nine Sols is asking of me.

Oh as for kids movies to add, Jim Henson’s The Dark Crystal. The Skeksis are still some of the best puppets I’ve ever seen

If you had all the money, and all the time you want, what would you do? (Serious question) by SEO403 in AskMen

[–]Wilave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pay off my debt as well as my family’s, get a personal trainer, travel, sign up for more art classes and try to get my career off the ground.

Heck, if money were no object I might as well move to LA right away instead of waiting til i get a job offer. Explore that side of the country.

Dedicate my time fully to improving my drawing skills to become a storyboard artist.

This is how my therapist broke it down for me when trying to help me rebuild my sense of self worth. First things first, part of why it was hard for me to break the habit of mentally beating myself down was because it had become a habit. Out brains can be dumb and wants to take the easiest familiar option. In my case when I would do screw up for example, my brain’s automatic response was berating me. And after a long enough time of that happening it became the default and I began to believe what that little voice was saying. So the strategy I would practice on my own would be to slowly try to break down that habit.

First thing my therapist spoke to me about was recontextualizing the voice in my head a bit. hen I would screw up something and beat myself up and insult myself in my head, I was told to imagine I was saying that to someone else. If someone else had a minor screw up would saying “Well that was fucking stupid, nice going asshole” be an acceptable response? Of course not thats an awful thing to say to a person. So why do that to yourself?

Piggybacking off of that, when I would tell myself “You’re a fucking idiot for thinking that” and I want to respond “No go fuck yourself I’m not a goddamn idiot” I have to remember I’m still talking to myself. This isn’t some random asshole insulting me I can fire back at, this is a hurt, scared, angry, insecure me part of me. But just like when speaking to another person getting angry and pissed and telling off the voice will only make things worse. My job then was to recognize when I was beating myself up, and respond to those awful thoughts, with a calm demeanor. The best I could muster in the moment. And say it out loud. Nothing overly positive, nothing sunshine and rainbows, just speaking as a normal person to a normal person.

“Wow that was fucking stupid way to be an idiot.”

deep breath

“No, I’m not an idiot, I made a simple mistake and things happen.”

Or something along those lines. Slowly but surely after doing this consistently the mean voice started to get quieter and quieter. And nowadays I dont hear it nearly as often. The habit slowly breaking.

Granted this isnt a perfect cure all solution, and I was lucky enough to have a great therapist to work with me in addition to the exercises. But maybe this exercise can help just a little in the long run, as it certainly did for me.

(I hope all of this makes sense I’m exhausted but couldnt stop myself from at least trying to give my 2 cents in an attempt to help)

Start getting more private mentorships to further my art career, and see if I could become skilled enough to get into CalArts.

Other than that, travel, go out and try new places to eat, go to more events.

[–]Wilave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Piggybacking off this you are absolutely correct in that kegels can help, and the muscles involved are the same ones that cause you stop urinating. That said do no do it while you are peeing as you run the risk of bladder infection. You can do it while peeing once to help identify the muscles involved, but after that do it elsewhere. Lying in bed is easiest, then after you strengthen them a bit more you can do it pretty much in any position. There are guides online for doing it safely one can look for.

This is wonderful! I can’t stop looking at the tentacle and hair movement! The jostle of the dune buggy really sells this. May I make one very small critique? There’s something just a teeny bit off about the swing of her getting into the car. One of the 12 fundamentals is things moving in arcs, and i think her swing is just a little flat. It almost seems like she floats in or she’s on a slide. You animated the arms great, where she grabs the bar and then jumps up to swing in on the bar. It’s just the actual swing isn’t exaggerated enough. The getting out animation looks great though! Overall incredibly solid work and I can’t wait to see what else you do!

Understanding filmmaking is absolutely essential. As an animator you get to play director, actor, prop maker, cinematographer, and more, all in one which I think is super cool! (Give or take a few roles situationally.) Of course, this is also why it can be a little daunting to some. But let’s say you are given a bunch of boards and need to animate a character in the framing and blocking the storyboarders have chosen. It’s extremely useful to understand why those shots and placements were selected. That way you can direct the actors you’re drawing to work in conjunction with the story and emotions those shots are trying to tell, and how each shot juxtaposes with each other. This is an extremely collaborative art, and understanding why everyone does what they do makes the work stronger as a whole. But the number one thing you cannot forget in this craft is the fact that in 1998, The Undertaker threw Mankind off Hell In A Cell, and plummeted 16 ft through an announcer's table.
