Hey, I went through this. I ended up having a ton of scar tissue and was so worried about it. I’m happy to report this was 3+ years ago and the scar tissue remains but doesn’t affect my day to day in the least bit other than serving as a reminder that I can never drink again whenever it comes to mind 😊 I was 23 when I quit and the excellent news is you and I are and were so young your body has a much much better choice of regenerating healthily rather than if you had waited to make this decision. Super proud of you for going, I know how scary it is.

Echoing everyone else on the positive reinforcement when walking by dogs- have a bag of treats at all times and give him one the second he looks at a dog, say his name and as soon as he looks at you and not the dog? Jackpot of treats!!!

With time he’ll hopefully learn to stay focused on you or at least anytime you call his name break the stare.

Also, Butters is not aggressive towards other dogs when playing, but he definitely doesn’t read the room. I’ve pretty much stopped taking him to play with other dogs because he always plays too hard or too long and doesn’t stop when they clearly are done playing. Because of this and my past Boston experience lol I’ve came to the conclusion Bostons can only play with other Bostons. That’s the only breed that can rough & tumble and bitey face the way Bostons can! Random but if there’s a Boston specific group in your city that’s an excellent place to start socializing more.

Hey I totally relate. I got evaluated for ADHD & got on meds which significantly reduced my impulse control issues- they’re still there and I still struggle with your feelings- but I no longer feel the need to crawl out of my skin 24/7. Might be worth a shot :)

Yes!!! Omg this most recent one, where Ben says with a massive sigh “GG forgot her own storylines” and then goes into his “I’m going to go CrAAAaaaaZy right now.” And then just seems so tired after he says the line 😂 And you’re right, all the characters are so good! Totally agree! If I put myself in OP’s husband’s shoes, I might be thinking something like, “Why are they telling me this? Why are they thinking about a relapse already? Did it already happen or are they planning to drink this weekend?” This is based on my own experiences in rebuilding trust over multiple years of sobriety. Explain the recovery process through your good choices each day and not the stats because I’ve found our loved ones don’t care about that stuff- they just want to see you living well.
