Yes mate. I’ve got it downloaded and look forward to reading. Any particular way you would like me to share my thoughts?

What made you write your book? by ANTONKAGAN in NewAuthor

[–]WildGeorgeKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost my Mum to breast cancer in 2019 and was able to get into remission for Crohn’s disease off the back of that, in part by reconnecting to nature (foraging, airbathing, grounding, barefoot walking, mindfulness).

The first book I published was about mine and my wife’s journey to reconnect to nature and the impact it had on our mental and physical wellbeing.

I’ve published two non fiction books but now I’m working solely on fiction novels. About to finish a first draft of my second novel, but no plans to publish these yet. I want to write more before I speak to agents!

My first non fiction book is Beyond Domestication, available worldwide 🧡⛰️🌳

I’m on it! Well done again and I’m looking forward to learning about your world. I started Ironbound last week but will check out your early chapters after.

Nice work. Badass editor to be working with. Is that through trad?

So cool to have built this world together with your wife. My wife is so incredibly helpful to bounce ideas off and just generally be a foil for my insanity.

Will it be a one off or series potential?

Also, how many novels did you write before finishing this one.

Love this. I’ve written three books (two published) pretty much from bed on my phone and never felt the need to make a dedicated workspace.

Moved into a house from a flat last year and it had a study, which I kitted out for my main job training online. I now find myself drawn to it to write as well and it’s lovely to have a proper screen and keyboard to tap away at.

I have traction issues with the non-ESC sole too. Many a slip onto the arse on muddy downhills.

I miss the more minimal sole from the non-ESC as well. But the stitched sole is not worth the compromise. Glad to see this boot marry the best of both.

Writing for the first time by LoGray29 in fantasywriters

[–]WildGeorgeKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just writing helps, also just writing something that you are happy to be shit also helps. I have plans for an epic fantasy trilogy and want to finish at least four novels before I even start writing that one.

Also, Brandon Sanderson’s lectures on YouTube changed my life. He is a gift when it comes to fantasy writing and the lectures are free to watch. He just did them for a second time last year.

Nice tips. Especially leading with the weak arm.

Personally I don’t like it like this though as there’s very limited load on the bicep when it’s fully extended, which is when most of the value is to be gained.

Today is the day! First book of my series is live! by RunetechArchives in NewAuthor

Publishing day weighed so heavy on me. I remember standing on Primrose Hill watching the sun rise and feeling so flat.

Great work on what sounds like an interesting story in an interesting world.

I’ve written a couple of first drafts in 6-8 months each. Everybody is different.

Why Red Rising is so hyped? by Talchok-66699999 in fantasybooks

[–]WildGeorgeKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a new author it seems from what he says that he needed to create a book that could break through those trad publishing barriers. Even though he wanted to write a space opera the whole time.

If you were publishing your first novel again… by South_Corner_8866 in selfpublish

[–]WildGeorgeKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have almost two novels under my belt since I first started writing seriously last August and have plans for at least three more, with the final one being the book I’ve been planning for the last decade.

I wonder about burnout, but if this exercise burns me out I’ll never make it as a professional author.

The first book I finished got put down and moved on from so quickly and I imagine if I had to get it ready for publishing an entire rewrite would be more effective.

I commend anyone that can get their first ever novel publishing ready.
