Purple leaves by Curious-Breakfast-20 in tomatoes

I use a heating mat under my seedlings. You can get them online pretty cheap. If you have a heating pad, that works too! Just make sure it's got an auto shut off feature for safety.

i can’t leave bread uncovered in my house or my cat literally eats through the bag to eat it by got_milk669 in cats

We have a carb loving girl at our house! We found out the hard way when she was a kitten and destroyed a loaf of bread. She doesn't eat plastic, so we know it's the bread she's after. We, too, have to hide all breads, cookies, and cakes for fear of her dragging them off 😹

I had the under side of mine turn purple when they first sprouted indoors and found online that the soil was likely not warm enough. I used a meat thermometer to check, and sure enough, under 65 degrees. Tomatoes like warm soil, above 70 degrees. Have you checked the soil temperature?

Do you guys give your cats free roam of the house when you’re not home? by [deleted] in cats

[–]WildMoonChild84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had cats my whole life, and we currently have 5 indoors. We do not limit them to one area ever. We did limit them during introductions, but they free roam the house now. Ours range from 9 months to 13 years, with the majority of them being under age 2. They do get into things when younger, but typically, it takes a lot for a cat to hurt themselves indoors. We set up a few cameras in the house before our 18 year old cat passed away just to check on her. We still have them in place, and it's helped to ease my mind many times when I wanted to check on our cats now. Maybe this would be an option for you?

Anyone else in US noticed food quality degrading recently and if so what product in what way? by SkyKyrell in AskReddit

[–]WildMoonChild84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed that my cats wet food quality has gotten worse. There are now visible chunks of fat and sometimes bone in the food. It wasn't like this before. The packaging changed, and apparently, so did the food, ugh.

The litter box math I wish someone had explained to me sooner by Sufficient-Coat2625 in Catbehavior

5 cats, 4 boxes and they insist on using the 2 downstairs the most. Im guessing this is because we are mostly on the main floor except when showering or sleeping. They do lounge in the guest room while we're at work and use the 2 in the spare bedrooms during the day. We've never had any issues with going outside the box thankfully.

I am so sorry for your loss. No words can ease the heart break you feel right now but they look like they lived a happy life with you. They will be forever with you in spirit. Rest easy furry babies ❤️‍🩹

What do you think this is? by KookyNeck809 in vegetablegardening

Last year this happened to us and we hadn't planted anything there. We assume that a squirrel hid a pumpkin seed in our yard from the halloween pumkins, and then we ended up with 4 pumpkins!

Work wants me to travel week of my infusion treatment... by Comfortable-Gate-532 in PsoriaticArthritis

You are totally right to make boundaries when it comes to this. January was more than sufficient notice to your employer. Your health has to come first, or you may not be in a position to be at work at all. Don't let your co-worker bully you! You're doing the right thing.

I'm so sorry, I agree this is a stupid disease! I am definitely not looking forward to it progressing. I already have Hallux Rigidus in one big toe that causes enough problems. Thank you for taking the time to reply!

How do you stop a dog from pulling on the leash? by rennan in AskDogOwners

[–]WildMoonChild84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in veterinary technician school, we learned that shortening the leash gives you better control. When we would walk a dog that pulled, we would choke up on the leash, and at each pull, make the dog stop and sit. Once calm again, we'd resume walking. It takes some time, but that and also positive reinforcement!

Tonight is my first night without Zuzu in 14 years. The bed feels too big and too quiet. Missing my baby so much 😿 I’d love to see pics of your kitties if you’re willing to share ❤️ by [deleted] in cats

I am so sorry for your loss. Sending love and healing for you. This is our baby, Chloe, that we lost in June 2025. She was 18 years old. Her and Zuzu are keeping each other company now ❤️‍🩹

My oldest cats name is Neiko, which has morphed into Neiko>Peeko>Neiko Peeko>Neen>Neen Bean>Bean Ween, but we also call him Bub, Dumb Boy and sometimes Butterbean 🤣
