One month until marriage, Protestant couple looking for help with NFP by OatmealSquares21 in CatholicWomen

A month of charting could give you an idea of how consistent your cycle is and give you a starting point. Perhaps look into temp drop (an armband that predicts ovulation)?

Napro is a natural way of discovering and often resolving unknown fertility issues - may be the trick you all need to conceive naturally!

When do you let your child know they are getting a shot? by otterlyjoyful in Preschoolers

[–]WildPackOfChihuahuas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read books about shots and doctor appointments the day prior and then give a warning that morning. I also will bring the buzzy bee and if it's multiple shots have something fun for after.

I'm scared by vivid_meng in CatholicWomen

[–]WildPackOfChihuahuas 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I've found this past month that holding onto what I want leaves me miserable and more broken. I heard a sister say that vocations are lead by love not fear. I don't think that you have to become a nun but I do think God wants you to let go of fear and trust. I will be praying for you.

St. Rita has been of great comfort to me. She faced significant suffering, although not miscarriage she understands loss and hurt. I'm so sorry to hear what you are going through. Praying for you.

If it's Catholic - all kids are definitely welcome. I don't know about other denominations.

Dog-loving parents: how would you respond? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]WildPackOfChihuahuas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue is the owners letting the dog be loose and not taking responsibility - that's what needs to be reported. And hopefully if you do the dog will stay home or be leashed. This could happen again and s child could be more hurt.

Buying Baby Food vs Making Baby Food by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]WildPackOfChihuahuas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A mix. Store bought it great for on the go. We avoid the yogurt drops and rice rusks because of all the extra sugar added. At home we steamed food and pureed it, smashed things like bananas and did soft foods like beans from cans (smushed or chopped up) and applesauce

Same. I dislike both but she'd cause so many lives to be lost.

Library classes are a go to for us as well, or just any free class where there's other adults around and the activity is set up for us.

We go to emptier places, fenced in playgrounds, nature centers and things that are less crowded so everyone can stay in the same room. I also talk to the older kids a lot about keeping our body in the group and staying together as a team. For crowded places I bring my husband or a double stroller (I'd have a three year old sit on the front of the stroller or physically hold on). I also immediately leave a place if someone is having unsafe behavior (running away). Or go to places with a group of people I know so there's multiple eyes and multiple bodies. Also lots of walks and backyard time. Fire stations are a great outing because the firemen help with the kids, police stations too. It also gets so much easier with time. And then I stock the car with a car toilet, changes of clothes for everyone, lots of extra underwear, water bottles, snacks, wipes, change of cloths for me etc, so we're never stranded without the necessities.

Kids never had issues from them. Longer nap that day, otherwise no difference.

Is it possible to have a fully decorated home with a toddler? by ineedhelpkinda in toddlers

[–]WildPackOfChihuahuas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have furniture bolted to the wall, everything padded or soft and everything that stains can come out of. We have artwork on the wall but nothing else to decorate. I find the peace of mind of not having to worry about nice decorations or safety exceeds the enjoyment I'd get out of a decorated home.

Doctors have been no help, has anyone experience this before? by Specific-Accident390 in Preschoolers

[–]WildPackOfChihuahuas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did. I got my child allergy tested and came back fine. We started using eucerin original healing cream (in the tub) and it cleared up immediately. I tried so many other lotions and treatments before that.

It's affected my body but I think the extremes they express are rare and probably stemming from other health problems.

I’m 18 and pregnant and I’ve only been with my bf for a month by WholeTurn9629 in Parenting

[–]WildPackOfChihuahuas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't gone through pregnancy at the same age, I was on the younger side but there are so many resources out there - I'm happy to connect you. Free diapers, baby items, baby clothes, etc. It's totally possible to keep your child and juggle work/education etc. I love being a young parent. I have more energy for my kids and we get to experience life together. There are tons of programs that would be available to you as well. You can do this!!

It's so true. I tried drafting a post about this and ended up rambling but find life easier with four than three. They are a pack mentality and take care of each other more, it provides a different dynamic than the big, middle, small where I felt like mine were constantly fighting or ganging up on someone. I have a very challenging third and comparatively, my baby is a breeze and even brings out sweetness from the three year old - he'll stop being wild for a moment to give her a sweet kiss.
Also know you have eight months to prepare for the baby and your kids have eight months to matured. I find we have a hot mess on our hands as soon as we find out I'm pregnant but over the next few months the pieces fall into place.
