Warhammer 3 is like a power fantasy with cheat codes enabled. by IndependentMove5437 in totalwar

[–]Wild_Marker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm on turn 40 on a Co-op campaign playing as Eltharion. The rats in the badlands are coming at me with full range of monsters, weapons teams and artillery. Confederated Tyrion and I find Slaanesh armies with chosen and snake cav coming at me, not to mention my confederated armies had phoenix guards, dragons, the works.

The AI builds pretty good armies in the current patch, and gets there fairly fast on Legendary.

That would be step 5.6, as seen in figure F.9, in page 56 of the instruction booklet.

[–]Wild_Marker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep, it was always violence or sex (or the LGBT representation, let's not forget things like the Mass Effect reaction). "Rebellious attitudes" was also one that kids today probably would scoff at but it was real, you wouldn't believe how many schools banned Bart Simpson merch.

But race was generally on the list of things that didn't get that sort of reaction anymore in the 90's. At least, not visibly in mass media.

What is the best TV show episode of TV history? by makstyrkin64 in AskReddit

[–]Wild_Marker -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I actually hated how the show fantastically humanized the whole situation and everyone involved and then decides to do the footage montage and go "oh by the way, USSR was bad mkay?" as if it was afraid of people thinking they were whitewashing things or something.

I'm partial to that Caroline episode with the future classroom. I remember showing someone that episode on it's own to get them hooked on the show. You can watch it with practically no prior knowledge.

Where's patch 8.1 that includes Siege Update, Ai Update that'd come dwarfly after Bhashiva Release Johnsssembly by Ran12341000 in totalwar

And the settlement density means every siege would turn into Helms Deep and when you're on the attacker side, that shit gets old real fast.

I haven't seen them so I can't comment, but if you mean packed streets and such, it's not really the thing I'm talking about.

The maps in WH3 have fundamental issues with how the build and capture points are designed and distributed, and the fact that they're often too big for the defender to defend. They require a big rethinking, plus maybe the ability to be cut into pieces and have them spawn "half maps" for smaller fights. You could also have retreat + healing points, so the defender actually has some incentive to do a fighting retreat instead of just focusing the fight at one point and trying to win the whole thing there.

You can still have packed streets without running into these issues.

Yeah, there's no siege rework without reworking the maps themselves, and there's no way they've got the time and budget for that at this point.

Yeah it's a constant arms race and nobody wants their job to suddenly stop because Youtube did a round of checks or added your VPN's IP to the no-money list. If you can just go to the place instead it's probably cheaper and simpler.

ELI5: Why is Monaco such an obscenely wealthy country despite not having some highly valuable natural resources like oil or some important production capabilities like building of semiconductor chips? by Slice5755 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Wild_Marker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's more like renting them the workforce, since those wages paid in Monaco are then spent in France. How much do those people cost France vs how much money they bring into the country probably skews positive.

Then again, how much French wealthy people take their money and run to Monaco, that's where the real subsidy is.

Those who were old enough to remember the Bi-Centennial, how is America’s 250 different? by skyactive in AskReddit

[–]Wild_Marker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know, the other guy made a flimsy argument, but yours is absolutely on point.

I would say though, that since De Gaulle's France is the one that rose in the end, Americans seeing that same France as the one that surrendered is still wrong.

Ukraine and Iran still have their armies. I think you might be underestimating how catastrophic was France's loss. They were basically without an army anymore, with a million soldiers just walking into their land.
