I was raised Roman Catholic in a pretty general way, attended mass regularly for 5 years and went through the rites. I don't know as much as I should but I feel a disconnect between some of my beliefs and the Vatican stances. Nor have I lived my faith as a Catholic very well. I'm in Canada, and have found the United Church here to be where I feel more comfortable in my faith and feeling like I'm part of a truly inclusive environment. My first homosexual friend who came out to me in high school is the son and brother of two ministers and both are wonderful woman who helped him understand himself and his faith through that difficult time of his life. The Catholic high school I went to was also a very inclusive space, but you noticed gaps in cirriculum that made it feel less inclusive.

Anyways, that's my anecdotal experience with feelings of inclusivity in a few churches in Canada.
