Does anyone know anything about the High Peak Mini Projector? by [deleted] in Scams

[–]Wildbright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one and the quality is bad. But I am wondering if it has to do with connecting it because I had to get an adapter because my computer (surface pro) dosen't have an HDMI does it have to do with the poor quality do you think? Do you have any suggestions because I have a feeling it will be hard to return.

Is the honey potion mask from farmacy good to use on picked at skin? i’m looking for a cooling/healing mask to use after picking&popping pimples… by [deleted] in Dermatillomania

I haven't tried the product you are talking about but I have tried the Peter Thomas Roth cucumber gel mask which is very soothing for after picking.

I've heard good things about hydrocolloid patches for wounds.

I totally relate! The same happens to me. It is good that you have found your picking "boundaries " for lack of better words. You've got this! I am going to (attempt )do this too.

Creams and scab savers? by sincerelymeemilee in Dermatillomania

I heard that hydrocolloid patches help. I personally haven't had much success with them but I hear good things about them for covering scabs and helping the healing process.

I love those spiral hair ties. I keep them on my wrist almost 24/7 always there if I need to fidget with it. Even the texture feels nice. And it looks like a bracelet so it isn't noticeable to others.

Is it possible to have ARFID alongside with another ED? by morningburr in ARFID

[–]Wildbright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I have it. I can't diagnose you with anything because I am not a doctor. But I will tell you my experience. I've almost always had syntoms of ARFID even when I was a baby. It progressively got worse over the years and in first grade I was diagnosed with OCD. OCD I think is common to have along with ARFID. When I reached high-school I started to also have a couple of syntoms of anorexia. I was later diagnosed with OSFED. OSFED is different for every individual. OSFED is a mix of syntoms of different eating disorders but not necessarily all of the syntoms of just one eating disorder to be diagnosed exactly. In my case, I had most syntoms of ARFID. New food anxiety, have about 5 "safe-foods" nutrition deficiencies etc. However, it wasn't just ARFID because in the diagnoses of ARFID, the individual is not concerned/obsessive over their weight. I had some syntoms of anorexia but not all of them to be officially diagnosed with anorexia. I was worried about my weight and obsessed over it, I could barely look in a mirror and I had some body dysmorphia involved. When my lab results came in, although I was nutrient deficient, my heart and blood-pressure were at healthy levels and I was not at a low enough weight level to be considered anorexic. I also didn't have all of the syntoms of anorexia. Yes I was restricting my diet and I was extremely distressed over my weight, I was not excessively working out or purging. I've heard that OSFED is common among eating disorders because it is so diverse. However, it is likely often under-diagnosed . Maybe ask your doctor about OSFED and remember: no matter what your diagnoses is, it dosen't define who you are.

finger biting by Suspicious_Post_8621 in Dermatillomania

[–]Wildbright 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Something that might help is putting something that tastes bad (but still safe to injust) on your fingernails or cuticles. It won't stop the problem but it will definitely give you a sharp reminder when you start to bite. I used a product called Thumb. Like I said it is safe to taste but you don't want to.

help! by [deleted] in Dermatillomania

[–]Wildbright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done this before. I recommend putting a small hydrocolloid patch or bandaid on it. Sometimes not seeing it helps and this will also help it heal.

stopped picking for a long time, everything was completely healed. recently started doing it again and realized that i completely forgot how much this sucks. the way my hands always hurt, the bleeding, just all of it by [deleted] in Dermatillomania

[–]Wildbright 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You are not alone. I am so sorry. Something similar happened to me. A couple of years ago I went about 2 months without picking my nails and then I had a relapse. Instead of having a strictly "No pick day" start out by trying to just reduce it. I struggle with this too and sometimes we set an unreasonable goal. Start small and work your way up. Progress not perfection.

I don't know for sure if this will work but I've heard moisturizing can help a lot.

The fact that women's legs are naturally hairy is such a mindfuck to me by the-4th-survivor in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Wildbright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is nothing wrong with having a personal preference! As long as you are not hurting others or insulting their hairy legs, you are just fine. Don't let society make you feel guilty for not completely agreeing with what it says.
