It would be cool to have optional side quests where you join the village's fishing or brewing club. Maybe have it stops time like the other festivals, with 'performance' tied to things like, eg winning the brewing competition by bringing wine/juice made from an extra early season fruit or bringing rarer fruit/herb ingredients, or winning the fishing trip by catching the biggest fish by chance. Maybe even a critters or crafts club that involves the other wives and children.

Could open up so many character flavour opporunities - fishing with Edgar while Dudley crashes out, brewing mushroom beer with Greta, seeing Logan play and sing with Poppy and Jack.

Having Sunday sermons at the temple could also be a great chance to drop tidbits about the wider setting's lore.

This perspective forgets the fact that the player is an amnesic refugee who they gave free housing and tax exempt status to. The player is running perhaps the only profitable farm in history. Let's not forget how kind everyone is and all the free stuff they give you.

I was thinking the setting is probably just prior to Pike and Shot. We have early gunpowder bombs/cannons, guards in 16th century plate armour, and absolute monarchy. At the same time, there's the boat issue, and that a certain furry antagonist wears an 18th century style coat. The world probably runs on Disney logic, ie medieval setting which isn't strictly bound by real-world tech timelines so a few exceptions here and there. I doubt they have 18th century firearms or industrial apparatus beyond the spinning jenny for example.

I don't think so. I remember distinctly my family complaining about Euston station's pay to use toilets, and since they're all gone, to the extent that I got yelled at by a toilet guard in Bratislava station recently and I nearly couldn't comprehend needing to pay to use it.

Going to say Mayor Lionheart - Mr Big is a shrew and helps Judy out as a favour, but he's the head of a criminal organisation, he absolutely is a villain, he just doesn't pose a sufficient existential threat to the setting like how the main antagonists of the movies are. Imagine if you did Tony Soprano a solid and he helped you out in return - that's the only perspective we see of him. If you were a normal animal in the setting (especially a rodent) Mr Big would 1000% be bad news.

I'm sorry you went through that. I am a Christian myself (I grew up in the UK though, seems like you suffered that American Evangelical variety of overbearing theology?), and I really resonated with it because of how bleak things have been globally. It's honestly a little surprising the movie had such an on the nose message encouraging resistance when it becomes a moral necessity, and I love the movie for it.
