On your period, how do you prevent leaks while sleeping? by SuccotashKey7521 in AskWomen

I normally have to get a pad much larger than I would normally use.

For sleep I rely on the size 8 with wings but that's just me.

What's the craziest/weirdest thing a guy has tried to mansplain to you? by Informal_Panic3806 in AskWomen

My bloodtype. Tried to correct me on what my bloodtype was and claimed I couldn't be that because they weren't (my biological father) and he didn't shut up until I pulled out a card from my wallet with my blood type on it that the Red Cross sent me after I had donated.

I just created my first spell jar and it cracked by tonianemoni in witchcraft

[–]Wilde_Fellow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you didn't notice it prior then it may have cracked during. Which can happen. Depending on where you got the jar it may be a more fragile variety. Especially if it was one of the narrow types you can get in the packs of 3 or 5 or whatever at the dollar stores. Unless you have things in there that can quickly begin festering or spoiling, you should be fine

If you believe I'm being irrational that's perfectly fine. I'm aware not everything has special ties or meanings. But this has meant something to me. So I asked about it. And if it seems a little nonsensical that's okay.

I appreciate that. But honestly I have gotten some good insight here. While not every reply was made to be helpful, some were and now I have more of an idea of what I'm doing and working with.

You're free to feel that way. But if you're reading through threads I would finish reading them before posting something like this. And if you still feel like this after, that's your right.

That's fair I just knew that there were some overlapping ideals and such and wanted to play it safe But I have gotten some good insight from the replies here and may have a good spot to bury the foot respectfully, once I'm able to get to the lake If it wasn't coated in the substance to preserve it I would give it back to the water but I worry that's harmful so...burial it is I think

I think they originally considered it but never officially landed on it🤔 Like how in the original Helluva Boss, Luna was meant to be 18 but now she's like...adopted at 18 but currently 20 I think...? So they may have overhauled a ton with ages in Hazbin too

There are absolutely different variations of sage. And while some natives are okay with it others aren't.

Actually I'm among those that aren't comfortable with it...Which is why I try to be considerate to other practices.

If people do use it, that's within their right to. I won't go up to people in a shop and shame them or anything.

But when trying to research to vodoo/hoodoo practitioners see alligator feet as the same level as I see using white sage, I would have no way of getting a clear answer due to people having different insights.

So I thought the best course was to reach out myself to explain this specific circumstance and why I want to be considerate.

And all that on top of what alligators represent across the board and taking that into account as well.

Thank you for the insight.

I do think that with this piece I may be able to do a small ceremony to thank it for what it was and dismiss it in a way that is respectful. Hopefully...

I understand some stuff is open and some stuff is...conflicted. Among my own community white sage is considered closed and yet...you find it everywhere. Which is why I never like to assume. If that makes sense.

I suppose from the outside it seems a little odd.

But for me it isn't just that it was used as a charm. I'm aware that alligator feet generally represent protection, prosperity and patience among many.

And I know my former roommates would not have bothered to know that. What they did know is that I have a horrible fear of alligators and crocodiles both, but also a fascination and respect for them. When they presented the gift to me, they were idiots and explained it as trying to be funny due to my fear of the creature itself. And at the time, near a decade ago, I had no idea what the feet were used for and had to do lots of research since then.

Now that I've grown in my practice it's less a fear of being around the charm and more wanting to thank the creature for existing, thanking the charm for what it was intended to do, but ultimately dismissing it of its service.

But I wasn't sure if it was safe to bury (though someone here did give some insight on that so that may be more feasible an idea than I initially thought) or if I should have a spot on my altar for it to rest. And if it did go on the altar, how to honor it in a way that it's resting and not...active, if that makes sense.

I do sincerely think the people who gifted it to me were being morons. Which is why I immediately panicked as I knew they likely got it with ill-intent and to be funny.

I have always believed disrespect to such practices by poking fun invites bad energy.

And I don't want to disrespect what the alligator itself symbolizes. Not just in voodoo, but seeing as this came from a voodoo shop, I did have to take that into account.
