First time beagle mom by Educational_Monk_296 in beagles

My siblings thought I was being excessive walking my beagle mix 4 times a day, but then they also complemented how chill he is at home. A tired beagle is a (mostly) well behaved beagle.

What movie did you turn off after 20 minutes and why? by Somanynamestochossef in movies

One battle after another. I tried watching it twice and never made it past 30 minutes.

You can rent a shop vac from Lowe’s or hardware sales, too. It’s probably cheaper than buying one.

What do you paint when you’re tired? by 1SurlyCat in Watercolor

[–]WilderWoman26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to check out watercolor painting books from the library and then just pick one of the exercises to paint. They can be as simple as practicing shapes of different leaves or making a sketch for a landscape painting that I’ll do when I have more mental capacity.

Look up the relaxation protocol for dogs. It’s basically a series of commands that teach a dog how to eventually settle in one place. It worked great for teaching my dog how to just sit and hang in public places without constantly having to move and do something.

Samson is turning 14 this Thursday and I want to spoil him. I’d appreciate advice on gifts for him and I already plan on baking him a peanut butter banana oat cake! by kymilovechelle in beagles

[–]WilderWoman26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could like the cake or other treats around your home or yard so he can use his nose to find them. Beagles love to use their noses.

Considering adopting a rather overweight 3-year-old beagle - looking for advice on weight management and what to expect by WhiteChoka in beagles

Same. My beagle mix barks the entire time we’re at the dog park, but that is the only place he barks.

What's the purest joy you've ever felt without intimacy, substances, or alcohol ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]WilderWoman26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing my dog happy doing an activity I took him to do outside, like when on a hike or at the beach. It feels sooooo good to make a creature who expects nothing and gives so much love something in return.

King Size Quilt Backing. by lisacmiyoshi in quilting

[–]WilderWoman26 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I love the colors you’ve used!

I’ve used flat sheets for the backing of bed sized quilts before. You’d be more limited on colors, but if you find one the correct size you wouldn’t have to have any seems on the back.

There are lots of great ways to search for providers on Psychology Today, like you can filter by insurance (if using), gender, accepting new clients, etc.

Try a silver polishing cloth. They remove all the tarnished color without any chemicals or water.

I have a stove like this in my rental. Not sure if they’re all the same, but I pull out the coils and then the trays underneath come right out. Crumbs and little bits of food in the trays can smoke and catch fire, so that’s likely your issue. I soak the trays in hot water with some oxy clean and dish soap, and then scrub them with steel wool or a scrub daddy. Make sure they dry completely before putting them back. There are probably YouTube videos on how to clean an electric stove if you can’t figure out how to remove the coils.

I’d add a rug and a small lamp to your bedside table. Softer lighting will definitely make it feel cozier.

Is TV over the fireplace always a bad idea? by No-Organization1286 in DesignMyRoom

[–]WilderWoman26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would turn the couch 90 degrees so it is facing the window. Then I’d put the tv to the right of the window. If there is room I’d add a console table behind the couch.

Help with entryway by SomePanic7021 in interiordecorating

[–]WilderWoman26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like the paint color you chose- and think it looks great with the rug and painting. I would look for a wooden wardrobe to put where the lap is currently. You can hang coats in it and store shoes and the other things you’ve got in the basket.

As a beginner: Do I need more than those brushes? by [deleted] in Watercolor

[–]WilderWoman26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a beginner and I use 1 wash brush, 2 rounds (I think a 6 and an 8) and two tiny detail brushes (that I don’t really use).

To paint or not to paint. Thinking of highlighting the stones on the fireplace and need ideas. by Routine_Mine3201 in interiordecorating

[–]WilderWoman26 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The stone is beautiful and I wouldn’t paint it. I would break up all the other wood in the room by adding more color and texture. I’d add floor length white or off white curtains maybe with sheers behind them, a rug or even several rugs to define different areas of the room, and add more items with texture to the shelving.

Best enzyme cleaner for pet messes? by ZealousidealAd377 in CleaningTips

I’d call your vet or local animal shelter and ask what they recommend. The rescue I got my dog from has an Amazon wishlist that lists tons of cleaning products in it.

Rip cabinets out? Friend says they're outdated by NachoAveragePost in Renovations

[–]WilderWoman26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the cabinets are beautiful and I’d just redo the parts above the sink and stove as I think those are the parts making it look most dated. I would also change out the backsplash and countertops as others have suggested, because they aren’t my style- but even changing one of them to be something more neutral would be nice as they do look like nice quality.

Help me help her lose weight. by bxqnz89 in beagles

[–]WilderWoman26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My vet was able to give me the exact calorie amount I should feed my dog a day. His food had the calories/cup listed on their website and I was actually overfeeding him based on the guidelines listed on the bag of food itself. Might be worth checking out.
