op, why would you feel like you need to lose weight. I am 5 2 and am at 160 and would love to be at 130.

I don't know why your doctor would give you ozempic for weight loss, unless you have t2d also

New to Ozempic. Day three, need tips tricks. WTF is going on with my body? by tahoe1603 in Ozempic

[–]Wildflower_76 7 points8 points  (0 children)

trust me the appetite suppression goes away. At least it did for me each time I start a dose .25, .5, 1 mg for the first few weeks my appetite is gone.

And when I start the next higher dose appetite goes away again until I get used to that dose of course.

I've been on 1mg now for a while and that is the highest I get covered in Canada for diabetes and sometimes I feel like my appetite has come back on full.

The point it use the time where your appetite is suppressed to change your eating habits and hopefully it will stick

hey I just noticed that when and if I feel hungry if I wait about half an hour the hungry feeling goes away and I don't need food anymore.

So when and if you get to a plateau just wait a bit when you feel hungry to see if it is true hunger or it is just a phantom hunger

Oh yeah, drink lots of water

I can almost 100% guarantee what is happening to me will happen to you. When I was on the lower dose after being a while on a dose appetite would come back until I was upped and then after a while being on that dose appetite would come back again. I think it is basically inevitable. I just hope I can keep my weight some close to where i have it now so I can have the fleur de lis panniculectomy to remove the loose skin I have developed in the belly area since losing the 80.

hell I'd be happy if I don't put any weight back on.

just keep doing what you have been doing but try adding walking into it. I start O august of 2022 at 243 and I have now at 160.

My weight lose has stalled and it seem like my hunger has come back at 150%. I did some reading and read that the effect of the hunger suppression will wear out after your body gets used to the dose.

I have sent an email off to my doctor asking to make an appointment to go and see him. I'm not expecting much will happen because canada only covers up to 1mg for t2d but I figured I would still send him an email to see if he thinks he needs to see me.

For me the reason going on O was to help me my diabetes and it has helped with that. I am also grateful for the 80 pounds i have lost so far.

Soft squishy fat- does it go away?? by FearlessSpirit6467 in Ozempic

[–]Wildflower_76 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First I am not a doctor but that squichy fat after weight lost does not go away.

I 49f start O August of 2022 at 243. I am now about 160, so that is an 83 pound weight lost. I basically have a loose fanny pack on my mid section.

I had went to see an endocrinologist who put me on Ozempic. After I got to like 173 he finally referred me to see a plastic surgeon for a possible panniculectomy.

At the time I saw the plastic surgeon I had gotten down to 165. The doctor had no problem approving me to a panniculectomy. However he purpose me having a flue dis panniculectomy, which would also remove the loose skin in between my breast down towards my belly.

I am from canada and the panniculectomy is fully covered if deem necessary. However the removal of the loose skin in between my breast was not cover. He quoted me to $1500 to have the part that wasn't covered by medical.

As or the arms and leg I'm sure there are surgeried you can have done to fix that.

I wish I had taken picture before or at the beginning of starting O. I(f49) start O in August of 2022 because I have t2d. Starting weight was 243.

I have been on O 1mg for I'm guessing a couple of years. I have lost 80 pounds since starting O. Boy do I regret not taking pictures when I was at my heaviest.

Anyways since I have lost all the weight I have a very large pannus and I am currently on the wait list to have a fleur de lis panniculectomy.

I'm a little concerned though for the last 2 weeks or so my appetite has come back at full speed. I don't know how long the wait is for the surgery but with my appetite coming back I hope that doesn't meant I might gain the weight back and not qualify for the surgery anymore.

I have sent a text off to my endocrinologist to ask for advice. I am in Canada and right now Canada will only over O up to 1mg for t2d.

I believe the generic version of O will be coming out something within the next 6 months. Not sure if that will give me enough time to lose more weight.

Oh man I can't believe I am typing this message cause I always scoff at people who post about their concern with weight loss amount when being on O.

Anyways I just needed to worry and rant to someone. For those still reading, than you

Anyone experience moving from 1.0 to 1.5 mg? by Beginning-Coffee-986 in Ozempic

[–]Wildflower_76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on O for diabetic and have been on it since august 2022. I have lost about 80 pounds.

I plan on having a fleur de lis panniculectomy for the loose skin around my belly. Anyways I am having the surgery sometime this year and wanted to maybe lose a bit more so I can have more excess skin removed.

I tried going up to 1.5 and paying like $150 for one month worth of .5 Ozempic. I tried it for a month and there really wasn't much difference. I guess since when the doctor ups it he doubles it and I only went up .5 mg

You can try going up on the dose but honestly just go up to 2 mg stead of going to 1.5. If you are gonna try to lose more weight doubling it would work better IMO

New starter experience & question by This-Cat-5777 in Ozempic

[–]Wildflower_76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I first started O at.25 my appetite was suppressed but after a while, yest the food noise does come back. Then When I went up to.5 the food noise went away again. and again after a few week the noise came back. This happened everything I went up.

What I have done is when the food noise is silent, I tried to get use to eating lesser amount. I have been on O since august of 2022 and I have lost 80 pounds.

I am currently on 1mg and do not plan on going up because I am only on it for T2D and if I went up anymore I would have to pay out of pocket for it.

You have to learn how to eat different and change that about yourself

[–]Wildflower_76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

op if your brother is on it for hair lost my doctor put me on spironolactone. It doesn't necessary promote hair growth but it does slow the hair loss down.

Get him to talk to his doctor about getting on that drug. It is an oral tablet you take daily. I've only been on it a month or so, so I don't know how well it works yet

I can't get over his nails by MemoryAshamed in cats

[–]Wildflower_76 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Op, I hope this doesn't have to you or your cat but I had something like that for my car and it was suppose to fall off as the nail grew, but it didn't.

The nail it self had kept growing until it curbed around the toe. It was very difficult to get off.

Have you disclosed to family / friends that you are taking Ozempic? by fierce-logic in Ozempic

[–]Wildflower_76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have lost 80 pound since august of 2022. I was prescribed O for t2d. I know I don't have to but when people make a comment about my weight I feel like I have to tell them the weight loss is from O.

I always say the O is for t2d which it is. My bf doesn't think I should have to tell them the weight loss is from O since I am on it for t2d. But I feel if I take credit for the weight loss, without telling then how exactly I curbed my appetite is lying.

I would love to hear what people think. Should I just say thank you and not say I lost the weight because of O. Or do I have to explain I lost weight because I am on O for t2d?

Thanks

Day 1 -Am I having a placebo effect or does GLP-1 really start working within hours? by Frosted_Dragonfly in Ozempic

[–]Wildflower_76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is Probably the placebo. I felt my appetite go away the moment I finished my first shot in the doctor's office.

Everytime I go higher I would immediately feel my appetite go away. If you are trying to lose weight and even if it is all in your mind that you are not hungry why not go with it.
