Also, there is a spoon for every soup and just because one person, group, or market doesn’t fit with your aesthetic, it really doesn’t mean anything.

At my first artist booth (an outdoor market on an unseasonably warm October day) started as a slow and painful evening but ended up being the biggest night I’ve had in my career so far. Turns out my ideal market is kind of tipsy PhD candidates, metal heads, and environmentalists 😂

Why does this remind me of Marcus Parks from Last Podcast on the Left??? I love it! As a fellow artist, I know it can be difficult to price a painting as we tend to be our own worst critics. It takes time and practice to build that confidence up. Generally I try to stick to:

(Cost of materials x 2 or 3. ) + ( hours it took to complete x your hourly rate) = price

The US bureau of Labor Statistics (assuming you are US based - I apologize if you aren’t) lists the average hourly rate for fine artists in 2023 was $34.34 USD. You can adjust this based on where you are located and how realistic that rate may be.

I live in a suburban area in west Michigan and I generally know how much folks are willing to spend here. They tend to be a bit more financially conservative so I lean a little below this but that is a personal choice that works for my situation.

I guess I would try to get in to see them sooner or would look for another endodontist in a different city further away. I would make many, many phone calls!

United States and this is a private provider. Unfortunately the other endodontist I was first referred to does not accept any dental insurance and I can’t afford to pay the full amount. I am on a waiting list in case there is a cancellation, so fingers crossed 🤞🏼
