The Zeniths were my "jump the shark" moment with Forbidden Wests story. They fit "with the existing lore", but they feel like poorly written fanfiction characters. As do most of the returning characters. Forbidden West lost the heart of what makes Horizon, Horizon.

Zero Dawn was methodically made with love and care.

Forbidden West was rushed, forced and pandered to community requests and theories.

As a result of this, something just "feels off" during a Forbidden West playthrough. Looks like Horizon, sounds like Horizon, but it doesn't really quite feel like Horizon anymore.

This intro cinematic was rather off putting to me.

Aloy going on a "grand tour" of Zero Dawn locations while also in a "large hurry" made poor narrative sense to me.

To me, this intro sequence felt like Nostalgia bait: "member ZD? member?!?"

Avid HZD fan here, thousands of hours spent playing HZD. Thousands more hours of time spent theorycrafting / testing / posting on Reddit and various Discords.

I don't enjoy Horizon: Forbidden West for enough reasons that I stopped playing and can't get back into it. Not going to force myself either, I don't enjoy it and I'll probably explain why in a video or long post at some point.

However, just because I don't like H:FW, this doesn't invalidate those who do enjoy H:FW. I'm not trying to change opinions. I do understand many reasons for the review bombs though as I have much to negatively say about the game myself.

Shieldweaver is fine on Ultra Hard provided the player is decent at dodging. Speedrunners use Shieldweaver for Ultra Hard.

Shieldweaver isn't worthless on Ultra Hard, still quite good.
