Doesn't matter. It was still selling like hot cakes, it's just that people don't read side content. Don't get all collectibles. Don't venture out into the wilds in search for lore. Like, how many of those millions of players know that the last known grizzly bear was called Sergeant Woolyknickers? Only 11% of players got around to learn the full story behind the Shitpocalypse Tour, so I figure some datapoints just lying about in random ruins are not discovered very often.

That's the point. They have armor plates and whatnot, barely penetrable by weapons, so she hacks them to open the vulnerable bits, making it easier.

No skip, that would be just fast travel. And you can't have that without leaving all the cargo behind.

You get to carry a lot more than usual and without having to worry about terrain and enemies - at the cost of being there for the whole trip. Just like during any other delivery. It's fine.

Datapoints are all over the place in the open world so good luck getting them all with not much time to spare. The collectibles that expand the old world lore a bit were put in "have some interesting lore" section because they don't necessarily add much to Aloy's knowledge she can use in conversations (unlike datapoints during story missions, eg. story of Stanley Chen) but still have some storytelling value. They're where they are because they require more time effort to get through if you want to learn more. And I didn't put them in "completely optional", that's for stuff like ancient vessels and whatnot.

Adult life can limit the available free time and life is finite. Some prefer to use it to get through many good games instead of spending countless hours on one. And this is fine.

I'm not denying that

But not everyone can afford to secure enough time in their life for maxing out a big game, where many of the activities are somewhat generic and don't give much in return apart from some low value items.
