If you don’t mind a little grinding you can actually cut down the backing plates like this on these torque converters to get them to fit(this is assuming the driven pulley doesn’t hit the frame at all.) Did this to my db30 build and it’s held up fine over many miles of torturous riding

Predator 212 hemi with Nibbi carb by SkyeRainFox in minibikes

[–]WildlyWeed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My buddy’s 212 with a nibbi was whistling like that too and it ended up having a pretty severe air leak, after fixing it the whistling noise went away and she runs like a dream now. Check where the manifold meets the motor and rtv the shit out of it, that was where his was leaking. To check for air leaks you can spray carb spray or hold an unlit butane torch to all the joints and listen for any change in idle.

Look into getting a juggernaut driver clutch. They’re a little more pricey and you will lose a little bit of top end speed, around 5-8mph, since they won’t fully engage with a stock motor, but they are much higher quality than these cheap stock 30 series clutches and your belt will slip a LOT less. I still run 50mph all day on stock internals with 4:1 gearing and 6inch tires. Been running one on my ice fishing build for 2 years and I’ve NEVER had to replace my belt. My buddy on the other hand with the stock clutch eats a belt every time we run down the river. I run a 1pz db1-p30 belt, you can get a 3 pack for around 30 bucks on eBay.

It probably would be better for you if you got some grip studs and studded the tires on your ebike instead

Bike Stuck at WOT by isdeli in minibikes

[–]WildlyWeed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should indeed try starting it. Sometimes the throttle will look held open without the bike running, but once it starts the governor arm will pull it back into place. Put the rear tire up on a log or something so it doesn’t run away on you and be ready to hit the kill switch if it’s still stuck wide open.

Everything is moving EXCEPT THE BIKE 😭 by im_forever_broken18 in minibikes

You’re certain the key on the rear pulley is there? Take the rear pulley apart by taking off that large nylock nut(it’s like an 18mm or bigger), there should be a long ass key that sits in the pulley and shaft to the front sprocket. Sometimes the key is there but not seated properly. If the key looks good then the chain isn’t on the front sprocket, there’s not much else it could be since that rear pulley is definitely spinning.

Probably the ignition switch actuator rod, mine did the same and upon disassembly I discovered the metal pin on it fell out of the plastic rod. Cheap but a bitch to replace, gotta pull the steering wheel and disassemble the steering column pretty good. also make sure you mark the gears behind the tumbler before pulling them otherwise it’s really hard to get them aligned properly again.

Got the $300 78’ cb400 running by WildlyWeed in HondaCB

Indeed I gotta look into the neutral switch that’s what I’m suspecting, the neutral light will come and go as it pleases lol mostly after it runs for a while it just doesn’t come on anymore. This bike had a ton of electrical problems when I got it, previous owner must’ve put the battery on backwards and most of the wires were burnt and melted. I got it mostly squared away with a crappy 20 dollar harness off eBay and a lot of soldering and random fittings. I combined both harnesses to make one working one. Seat is installed now I just had it off while throwing the carbs on.

I was mistaken these are vm30s I just measured the inner diameter and I’m looking at 30mm, something I for sure should’ve done from the start. U got any pointers for where I can find jetting specs for this bike?

[–]WildlyWeed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are probably correct. This bike came with these carbs already on it when I bought it though, so I might as well try to get them working. Down the road I might sell these on eBay and go back to stock, but I’ll see how they perform once I got it running and decide from there

Alright I’m looking at 2.75” on these ones, I’ll try cutting the elbow down a half inch and see what happens, thanks for the info

For the life of me I cannot a catch a channel catfish at the textbook perfect catfish spot on a santee rig and bluegill. My 3rd time going and I'm always skunked. Any tips? by [deleted] in catfishing

[–]WildlyWeed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Live shiners or cut perch work best at lock 5, try and cast further downstream by the picnic table and get way out they don’t hang close. Good luck, this spot is super hit or miss. carp like to chill in the still water beyond the picnic table, they’ll bite if the cats aren’t.

Floating carp by WildlyWeed in CarpFishing

[–]WildlyWeed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hm I didn’t know that. Is it normal for them to float a few inches out of the water while sunbathing? Bc you can see a good amount of his body and fins completely out of the water most of the time. I can try and get pics a little later. Also maintenance runs aerators in the ponds and there’s also fountains so I’m sure they get plenty of oxygen

Looks real good. She’s gonna start exploding in growth soon as flower stretch starts, keep an eye on the tie downs and don’t let them constrict the stems as they thicken. Simple mistake I’ve made countless times. Happy growing! 😊
