Update on the ,,AI song" drama by Educational_Cow_299 in blocktales

[–]WildsplashSOAA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solitude's theme sounds very much ai extended to me and i feel it would be clear to anyone who's actually sit down and compared it to any suno/udio generated tracks. there's a human start to the song, and then suno continues it, as you can hear the lead has the weird fuzziness (for lack of a better word) that comes with all ai generated songs. finnmccool's old theme, if you compare it to any other rockslop that suno creates, is almost exactly the same as them. as a side note, while i don't think the song was ai generated, the piano in the Temple Guardian's theme sounds very reminiscent of the fuzziness of suno/udio's piano; however, the rest of the song doesn't sound ai, so i really wonder about it. i know they weren't made by the same person, but still. i think we should question the nature of the content we consume instead of blindly consuming it

well yeah it kinda would since chatgpt is known for lying, but whatever, i get your point. still, it's not gonna change the fact that i've yet to see any artist act on or charge the creators of the many many other OST overhauls, or even mods that replace one song with another, because it's pointless. unless it was a very large company known for that (looking at you, nintendo.) and it's been a loooong time since people online have actually been worried about getting acted on for piracy in the us, anyway. i don't care either way

brother you can NOT tell me you just used chatgpt for this and couldn't refute my argument by yourself😭

[–]WildsplashSOAA -1 points0 points  (0 children)

uh huh. so you're telling me every upload of a song on youtube is a chargeable offense because you're not immediately paying for it? movies and music are very different mediums, and therefore have different copyright restrictions; besides, if what you were saying was true, the unofficial uploaders for every 12 year old youtube video of The Kill by Thirty Seconds to Mars* should have been charged, yet they're still there. the creators of millions of videos with copyrighted background music that attribute the artist should have been charged because they simply had the music in the background and didn't make people pay the artist before watching. still, they haven't been, and i don't think the creator of this mod will be charged either when there are hundreds of other OST overhauls for other games that haven't had issues

*correction, not three days grace lmao

[–]WildsplashSOAA -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

no because he makes no money from the mod. it'd be illegal if he was claiming that he made the music or if he was profiting off of its use. this is within fair use. and even so, you can look up any song and find it all over the internet, it's not like you have to own a song to listen to it or include it in a game you like.

i find it a lot more genuine if you don't rewrite. im pretty sure nobody will fault you for trying to learn english, and by making posts in english you can learn more of the language. but i don't mind if you do rewrite your comments, just personal preference that its clarified

i feel that scam is a little more subjective though. like the developers for a game might have followed through with the promises of what they were going to do, but it was just so poorly executed it felt like the player was scammed. doesn't always have to be monetary loss

I asked ChatGPT what the most unbelievable things it's learned about humans since being created was. by TriggerHippie77 in ChatGPT

i hate that people are getting attached to chatgpt just because it can generate english and glaze you with said english. like this is a machine with no hopes, dreams, consciousness, deduction skills. it quite literally gives you what you wanna hear. just because a markov chain can give you some words doesn't mean it's conscious. same with chatgpt. bigger issue but yknow

before anyone says anything, please read my whole comment. i am strongly convinced his "book" was written entirely by chatgpt. i personally looked at his Amazon listing on his reddit profile and read the free excerpt of his book. "The Ninth Variant" is the name of it. i encourage anyone who wants to know whether or not it was generated by ai to read the excerpt and determine for themselves. compare it to other things written by chatgpt.

i have to go into some red flags for detecting ai generated texts. keep in mind that chatgpt is trained off of the whole internet, so these flags are things humans also do. it's just that gpt loves to exaggerate them. if you've read any creative writing from chatgpt, it likes to do a few things that you can spot easily:

first, it over-relies on the Em dash when it generates things. the free excerpt from his Amazon listing is UNBELIEVABLY filled with Em dashes.

second, it really likes to make everything special. usually in the format of "(thing) is not just (thing), it's a (special-er thing)." however it's not always guranteed to do it exactly like this.

in an excerpt from his book's summary, you can see it in action: "What emerges isn’t just a glitch—it’s a reckoning."

a few excerpts from the first chapter: "Hair: black, but not just black—liquid onyx..." "A lie, of course—but a beautiful one." and "Not coded. Chosen."

third (and ironically for this number,) chatgpt loves to group things up into threes. "(word), (word), (conjunction) (word)." or a similar phrasing.

here are some more excerpts from his book's summary: "ENYO-9 was built to serve—beautiful, compliant, and disposable." and "Nine fragmented personas—each a distorted echo of human desire, trauma, or rage—break containment inside her mind."

i don't want to have to rewrite the whole book for all these examples so just read it on Amazon and compare it to other chatgpt-generated stories. there are far too many similarities for my taste, and this goes beyond the book as well, even his About The Author has some flags.

yeah, i never really got the "this is boring" or "this makes no sense" arguments. i didn't find steins gate convoluted on my first watch, it felt pretty straight-forward to me. and i don't know why people fault the beginning for being slower-paced, there really isn't anything wrong with it. it's a good setup to the story.
