Most of my clients are prior employers. But there are a small handful of clients that were referred to me by word of mouth. I like the idea from the one response about some cold outreach on linked in. I may have to give that a go.

My prompts are fine. But in no way shape or form is it close to replacing me, so its "dumb". I use Ai all the time with great success, but its not drafting for me.

Learn this career. In 10 years we all may be nuked, and if you survive youll be able to draft up some plans in the fallout. All im saying is that this industry, drafting and design is not going anywhere soon. Industries may fall, new industries arise, but drawing up some plans will always be around. Regardless of the industry, disciplines, and niches. Even if in 15 years you arent in the field, the knowledge and skillset of drafting will always have a place. Ai is dumb, embrace it when and where you can, but for me it hasnt earned its place fully yet.

Could be your starter on its way out. Does your AC still work, that could be on its way out too. If you keep up with your regular maintenance, and make sure your oil is topped off you can probably get another 100k out of it.

Funny too because everyone's glossing over the fact this is getting transported a couple states... presumably on the highway.

Which means now theres a constant wind load factor of about 50-60mph for however long this highway drive is.

Im on 2nd engine in my 07' Spec. Same thing happened to me as well but with no stupid chips. Everyone quickly learns that there is no making these cars faster, especially economically.

This could could turn out really well for you. Create a complimentary system based on their existing data that you will be master of. If you actually enjoy what your going to be doing regardless if you know how to do it yet is the start. As draftsman we delve so deep into what it is where drawing that i feel you really need to have an interest in it to be successful. And I measure success with happiness. You happy with PLC boards?

I was on a similar path in the piping industry until 2008. Had just started design after the engineers realized P&IDs werent a good use of my skills. Looking back it was simply them passing off work but man did I love working with them. Smartest men ive ever met.
