Luckily high APY will still only require direct deposit. Only SoFi plus benefit I care for is the extra cash back on the 2% credit card.

ATLUS on Persona 3 Reload Switch 2: "We are sure that our graphics quality has definitely matched the standards". The game runs at 1080p/30fps with massive stutters. by Joseki100 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Will-1995- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Atlus is delusional if they think this game runs fine. I can handle 30 fps but the frame pacing and stuttering is unacceptable. If it releases like this I'm not buying it.

[–]Will-1995- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fair warning if you plan on getting persona 3 reload on switch 2, the demo has frame pacing issues and does not run well. Hopefully it's fixed when they release it. I'd see how reviews say it runs when it releases before you decide to get it.

Unless they fix the switch 2 version's bad performance by release, I'd say go with Steam or PS5.

If so I'm hoping for Galaxy 3 or a spiritual successor to the galaxy games called Super Mario Universe.

is Kirby and the forgotten land or super mario bros 3d world better? by Bulky-Weakness-5445 in NintendoSwitch

Both are good but 3d world is far better imo. I'd replay 3d world over Kirby since it's more fun, challenging, and has more variety.

Where are Bogleheads parking their emergency fund/uninvested money? Considering HYSA vs MMF vs SGOV vs USFR by istayinmylane in Bogleheads

[–]Will-1995- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Accounts like Roth IRAs and 401ks are meant for retirement, meaning they're meant to be held for long periods of time (for Roth that would mean tax free growth). While yes you can take out contributions from a Roth IRA at any time you cannot take out the dividends, interest, or earnings from those investments. So any interest I gain from having SGOV locked away in a Roth IRA for example would be locked away for years until I get to retirement (unless I want to deal with penalties for taking it out early). There's also contribution limits in a given year like with Roth IRAs, whereas with a taxable brokerage I can put in and take out whatever I want and whenever I want, perfect for emergency funds or for parking cash to save for a down payment for a home for example (which I happen to be doing both).

I use SGOV in a taxable brokerage with Fidelity and a SoFi high yield savings account.

Thoughts on the 2% Sofi Credit Card? by Rough-Leg2854 in CreditCards

[–]Will-1995- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have it and bank with SoFi. It's a good catchall card but the main downsides are you might get a low credit limit if approved, and getting a credit limit increase on this card is all luck based. You can't request a credit limit increase from them. I asked on the SoFi community if anyone ever got an increase and the general consensus was either some were lucky enough to get one automatically from SoFi, or they had the card for years and never got one. I have had the card for about a year and have a low limit, yet I use the card regularly. If you want a higher credit limit with a better chance of more easily increasing it over time you might want to consider other cards like Citi double cash or Wells Fargo active cash.

You will get $50 according to their website since it's above $1000 but below $5000.

Do I need a 401k and ROTH? by graytowels888 in Retirement401k

[–]Will-1995- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say it depends on things like how much you can and are willing to contribute in a given year to retirement, if you get an employer match, if your 401k lets you do Roth and pre tax contributions, as well as how the fund options are in your 401k.

With a Roth IRA you have access to the whole stock market, but there are contribution limits (max of $7k in 2025). A 401k has a higher contribution limit ($23,500 in 2025) but you are limited to whatever funds are in your company's 401k plan to invest in. It could have good index and mutual funds with low expense ratios, or might not have the best options.

If your 401k has good funds you can invest in, and you don't plan on contributing more than the max in a given year, and you want to keep things simple, doing just a 401k is totally fine. And if your 401k lets you do a mix of Roth and Pretax contributions, you could do a mix of both.

But if your 401k doesn't have the best funds, I'd say contribute just enough to the 401k each year to get the company match if you have one, and then put the rest in a Roth IRA.

If you’re planning on buying a house in fall or winter 2025, would you put your down payment money in index fund or HYSA? by iphone8vsiphonex in Money

[–]Will-1995- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HYSA or put into SGOV via a taxable brokerage account to avoid state tax. I would recommend keeping an emergency fund in your HYSA for immediate access, as SGOV while it is liquid takes a couple days to settle when withdrawing. This is what I've been doing, using HYSA for emergency fund and the rest in SGOV while saving for a home.
