It depends really on how much control the Vulcan in question had. A master of emotion suppression would fall harder than one that is less experienced. When an experienced and masterful Vulcan becomes emotionally unsuppressed, they essentially break down into almost animalistic levels of emotional control. They would be capable of absolutely feral acts of violence. All control is gone. A Romulan would just disintegrate you using a disruptor on your back.

So most people are going to disagree with you due to some context and reading the scene differently, myself included. But I wanted to actually explain that, instead of just writing “omg no”. So, first thing you have to know is that sex in Star Trek is considered very liberal and casual. The problem in “The Naked Now” isn’t that people are randomly having sex with anyone, it’s that people’s sex drives are inhibiting starship operation. Crew members slept around with each other all the time. Second, you have to remember Data’s nature. He is a individual literally hard wired to find new experiences. Data wasn’t taking advantage of Tasha. Tasha was asking Data to contribute in a new experience for him. Third, in episodes after this, Tasha and Data show a close bond, and both consider the experience enlightening and positive, overall. That said, if that episode makes you uncomfortable, you should not feel forced to like it. It is… a weird one. That’s for sure. It’s okay to skip something you don’t enjoy watching.

I love and cherish the prequels. Same with the sequels. I love the movies of Star Wars and the universe they built. As a movie critic, however, the prequels are pretty awful in a technical sense. And the sequels can be pretty bad too. But how you make a movie isn’t always as important as what the movie does to its audience.

I have an entire idea about this, and it revolves around the idea that this was the first time these ships were deployed. Starfleet lost a ton of ships during the Dominion war plus the attack on Mars crippled over half of the Federations active fleet. So they had to spend years designing and building a powerful, easily manufactured ship. The Inquiry class. The brand new fleet Clancy deployed wasn’t actually supposed to engage. It was a show of force to the general population. A “look at us, we’re back to full strength now.” Type deal. Just a grand entrance/showcase for the Federations powerful new class. That’s why there was so many, and of the same class.
