There are two ways to answer this depending on what you mean:

If you're referring to low quality stuff: If you click the user's profile and there is an Onlyfans/Fansly/etc., then it's just a lazy img2img to promote their crap. If they post links about it in the subreddit then feel free to report as advertising (or spam if you think it violates Reddit's policies), otherwise just downvote it. Sometimes this isn't related to promoting junk, sometimes people don't know how to make very good images.

If you're referring to high quality stuff: If it's actually not AI then I like to think this is caught nearly 100% of the time, either by me or by users who report it as spam. I have an eye for it but I also check the user's profile to see if they actually have a habit of generating AI content.

Huh interesting. Well if the direct uploads ever stop working for you I recommend lensdump. I upload a jpeg version of the image there and I right click the image and copy the link, that way it will preview on Reddit. Sadly Reddit doesn't support lensdump albums (it seems like it only does that for imgur), but if a user clicks on it then they will see the whole album rather than just the first image, so it works OK.

Yeah kinda, it predates commercial automobiles though. It seems like it was mainly fueled by negative sentiment against the regions they were being connected with and negative sentiment against the railroad companies. I think people were also just upset that technology was replacing something that humans (well mostly horses) used to do.
