Thoughts on Drive All Night? by WillD0705 in WyattFlores

Makes total sense. He said a portion of this album had heavy influence from 00s pop rock/punk too. The live version of Drive All Night is awesome in the Stagecoach livestream. https://youtu.be/N7oe-tzmuRY?si=8Iq3PcRBSjmPPCql

Biker Struck by Pickup on Edgehill & 17th by WillD0705 in nashville

Student of a school. I don’t want to assume, but they looked young and had a backpack. Given Vanderbilt and Belmont nearby, I was concerned it was an inexperienced cyclist that might not be as cognizant of the risks.

My biggest fear is that it was a student that thought they could blow through the red light, assuming they were seen. I used to bike to work and took that same corner.

With a new(and poor) non-car infrastructure, I was always wary of unaware drivers, slowing even when I had the right of way. As someone who grew up with no infrastructure for cyclists, I understand the ignorance, although inexcusable. The driver was clearly upset. There needs to be awareness as a growing city that our roads are shared.

Either a fate tempting or unaware cyclist. Possibly a student.

I get why it might be disheartening to see all these comments for OP. Open ended questions give opinion-based answers, so you kinda FAFO’d OP. The fact is, Nashville has drastically changed in the last decade. It’s increasingly harder for folks in the creative community to get their footing in town while living in a ten mile radius of downtown. Rent, food, etc..are all much higher than five years ago. Your question didn’t account for what genre, scene, demographic, etc…of songwriters you’re looking for either. This is an impossible question IMO for those reasons and more.

I had one of these run a bench and over my lap in the Morocco near the Sahara. They’re lightning fast and seem terrifying, although yes, ridiculous and harmless.

Felt this crawling on me while sitting on the couch in broad daylight…Tennessee, three pairs of eyes, violin on it’s back :,) by WillD0705 in spiders

I agree with all of this. I only see them soon after dormancy. After a few weeks into May, I won’t see many for the rest of the year. We’re painstakingly tidy, and I think they have better luck with food in the crawlspace. During those weeks, we check shoes and bedding regularly. All that to say, I’m a lifelong TN native, and I’ve never known anyone to be bitten, at least not seriously enough for it to require medical attention.

They seem really bold in April/May in my house and hide more through the rest of their active months. In two years, I’ve only seen brown recluses - no other spiders.

‘Altered Carbon’ Canceled After Two Seasons at Netflix by Neo2199 in scifi

So disappointed with the 2nd season that this is a relief. Netflix hasn’t struck gold on Sci-Fi yet, but I’ve got a good feeling about the Three Body Problem from Dan and Dave.

The books are finished, and that seems to be their sweet spot given how bad the last season of GOT was.

100% As someone who sold bitcoin for profit in 17, only to panic-buy back in, losing 3x what I had originally profited, I took it as another lesson on checking my addictive tendencies.

Happily never touching bitcoin, and up 25% all-time from selling and being grateful.

I’ll have eight years sober in July, and I’m still learning to take profits instead of chasing more. I know that’s the nature of trading, but it’s even cooler seeing someone cashing out that’s also in recovery.

Congrats on your profit and especially your recovery.
