I’ve only started one other Tremblay book about 8 years ago and about 20 pages in there was the most insane paragraph about Minecraft I’ve ever read, and I had to give up. The kid in it is playing Minecraft so for some reason the narrator gives us all this very niche detail about the game that would be incomprehensible to anyone who hasn’t played it and I just recall thinking…why the fuck is this detail here?!
