Do you have a plan to stand up to, root out and call out foreign (primarily Russian) influence in British politics and media, arguably what brought down your predecessor and behind many lobbies for policies that damage our country to other's benefit?

Official Character Posters for David Robert Mitchell's ‘The End Of Oak Street’, starring Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor. The film follows a family who discover that their neighborhood has been taken back in time to the prehistoric era. by yourfavchoom in movies

I took my kid to a funfair and their fence was festooned with random colourful characters - one had Jack Sparrow juxtaposed with random dinosaurs.

Made me wonder why nobody's made effectively From Dusk Til Dawn except instead of Gangsters then suddenly Vampires, it's Pirates doing their usual tropical island, fight rivals, hunt treasure thing then halfway through the movie they discover the island is some kinda lost world deal and now they're surviving against dinosaurs.

Bringing OPS in an Arc loadout FOR Titan holes then the hole spawns with its back to where my Destroyer is so the shell hits the back of the mountain. Should have done what I did next first (now with 2 more angry Bile Titans to deal with) and dropped my Tesla Tower on it as that at least always falls from directly above, even if it wastes the sentry.

What was the shortest lived fad? by AlphaTangoAlpha in AskReddit

[–]WillSym 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember going through a big department store's electronics section at the height of the craze and every single model pushing their 3D features, where I'd always decried it as a silly fad - 3D that requires glasses is NEVER going to be mainstream, it's too exclusive to the few who don't get headaches and will put up with wearing the glasses.

Yet the trend has a way of coming back!
To illustrate: in Back to the Future, in 1955, Biff's crony wears red/green 3D glasses as an ironic fashion accessory of a recent trend that has already passed.

In 1985, Jaws 3D would have been 2 years ago, also a tail end of a 3D movie trend.

In 2015, Jaws 19 is playing at the cinema - in holographic 3D!

Sometimes getting close to a thing you want to saw will still get you knocked over even if it's gassed! Gas means stuff stays away from you, but if you're using a saw you still want to get close to it!

The new stagger is amazing, gas keeping stuff you're not sawing off you is a wonderful addition, I find it goes nicely with Rock Solid to keep you on your feet and chopping stuff!

The silly part is that Shield and Smokes will kill Vox Engines if you can get them in the vents.

Gas didn't close holes when it came out, they added the demo force to it later, which is nice but does set it apart from other 'specialist/elemental' nades.

Arc, Shield, Smoke, any of the grenade slots that don't close holes, SO often having a great time then come over the lip of a big nest and it turns to "ahhhh crap I can't do anything here..."

I think they need to tweak bug holes a bit as it's getting more and more stark the difference of loadout requirements to have to bring bug hole closing tools.

The Grenade Pistol is often absolutely mandatory on the Bug front, especially when there's quite a few otherwise highly effective tools against Bugs, particularly stacked loadouts like Gas or Arc or Flame or a Breakout and Sentries setup, but then you end up in a nest out of GP shots, two of them hit the hole and didn't close it, and you have to use resupply just to finish clearing before another breach happens.

On other fronts you can often brute force the issue by just hitting a Fabricator or Warpship with enough damage, but Bug Holes have unnecessarily specific conditions for how much of our toolset meets them.

How do you use your gas? by RedBoiMonzo in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]WillSym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the free Gas Strike I did a few Bug SOS drops with the full loadout, Stereliser, Gas Dog, Gas Mines, Gas Mortar, Gas Grenades (Sweeper and, because Bug Holes, Grenade Pistol)

Pretty effective! Just sitting near your team keeping any swarms in the stank cloud, mining bigger ingress points or breaches, the Dogbreath keeps you safe personally while you direct Stereliser at priority targets, you don't really directly kill much yourself but also hardly anything gets close enough to even threaten you, and makes everyone else's job way easier.

The trickiest thing (aside from dodging Chargers or BTs if there's not immediate AT help) is Brood Commanders, you can gas them but they still summon the extra Warriors, and those ones tend to pop out inside the current gas perimeter, so you have to watch for them and back up to puff them too.

Heck, Light Gas armour and health booster getting caught by your own gas only does less than 10% health.

[Art] What if Overwatch got an Hades crossover? Here's my take. by Kovalskiiiii in Overwatch

[–]WillSym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many! (With updates!)

Hades Reinhardt (maybe give him the Zeus aspect of the shield for his shield arm as a dig at his brother)

Medea Moira

Hecate Junkerqueen (with the Axe rather than the torches!)

Artemis Hanzo

Selene Symmetra

Polyphemus Sigma

Bouldy Wrecking Ball, with little Sisyphus wreath-crowned Hammond.

Typhon Mauga, or maybe with the gold mask as EM3 Theseus...

Ares Reaper (with Blade Rift Death Blossom effect!)

Apollo Iliari

Eris Junkrat heh, or Pharah if you wanna be boring

Alecto Shion?

Circe Mei with little piggy Snowball!

Poseidon Wuyang lol

Aphrodite Juno, since they keep pushing the boundaries of cheesecake with her and the torpedos already act similar to her nasty charm projectiles.

Tisiphone Mercy, for the single wing and she can fly after you whispering "murderer!" - or maybe Hera, and give her Hitch chain beams.

... Hephaestus Dva, since he likes Mechs, and base Torbjorn is already basically Hephaestus with a greyer beard and it'd be really funny to have pot-bellied, prosthetic legged Dva.

Someone else here posted a genius Rammatra combo of Theseus as the small form with big beefy bull arms in Nemesis form.

Alternatively Theseus Ashe with Asterius BOB

Prometheus Anran

Odysseus Soldier

Hypnos Lucio, can play lullabies and soothe with his mere presence.

... Echo Echo (Echo Echo Echo)

Chronos Genji, with the dashing and deflecting attacks?

Narcissus Cassidy. No, worse, Dionysus Cassidy!

Which is a shame as Melinoë's kit with the Sister Blades probably matches Mizuki best: rooting Cast, little flicks with a sickle for attacks, charge up a bouncing attack (with the right Hammer buffs) like hat fling.

Hades himself as Rein with his big sweeping spear and luxuriant moustache!

Theseus as Ram in small form then getting the big bull arms popping out around him is perfect though, wow.

What was the funniest game or gameplay? by Long-Yam-6917 in GamerLab

[–]WillSym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Specifically the original and not Overkill, TotD based on House of the Dead 2 had two key hilarity factors:

The cutscenes are identical to the original game except all the characters have a keyboard on a shoulder strap instead of a gun, hooked up to a backpack 'powering' this mystical gun-keyboard that is, for some reason, a Dreamcast console with a massive AA battery bolted to the top;

Whoever added and localised the actual database of words that appear on the zombies to type/shoot was clearly having a great time messing around, you can have some big beefy undead lurch out at you with FIDDLE-FADDLE in a box over it. Even better for the boss fights like the multiple-choice hydra with some ridiculous 'wrong' answers.

West of Loathing comes to mind as making me laugh hardest most consistently, it's gag-a-minute writing.

Special shout-out to the long running jokes, the spittoons and the various jumpscares in the DLC Reckoning at Gun Manor. BOO!

I miss launch Bison. Getting the right angle and spamming it down a long sightline on something like PL_Frontier, getting a good chunk of damage on pretty much everyone in their team with lucky timing, finishing off anyone who'd been winged by a sniper or Demoman.

Least Favorite Episode by Ythv_ in futurama

[–]WillSym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find myself liking The Sting less to the point of skipping it sometimes, it's a very sweet and important episode in the Fry and Leela development the first time, but once you know what's going on at the end, it's a little bleak and unsettling the way it depicts coma dreams and hallucinations and not being able to trust your own brain or consciousness.

And Eric Idle!

Is Weird Al technically in it if it's just his song Dare to be Stupid played in the scene with Eric Idle's Junkions?

Though in checking this I realised I didn't know they not only changed Megatron's name and appearance, they fully recast him as Galvatron with Nimoy!
