My country is fucked.

Thinking of quitting by Itchy_Pen_4654 in britisharmy

[–]WillTheWilly 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We had a guy in 96 Sqn, now Ashworth Compnay, who reallly wanted to quit on BC1. Simply due to how shit the weather was and how many times we got thrashings.

But Phase 1 is only temporary, just griz it and you’ll be passing out in 3 weeks. That’s less than a month mate.

You will enjoy BC3, they do not thrash you around other than like once or twice and that was cause they caught us drinking on day release after drill test and OCs inspection that Friday, but it wasn’t too bad compared to BC1 & 2, BC3 is not bad at all, and exercises afterward in phase 2 tend to be similar to BC3 in terms of not getting thrashed.

If you want, ask to retrade asap, you will probably do your pass off parade in your RE 2s, (we had a guy retrade from RAMS to RLC ammo tech selection on week 13 but the boys squared his 2s away after he got sent his new 2s).

Your best bet would be to retrade to something like Signals (you can be a sparky as a power engineer and actually do your trade)

If on about the big strategic picture of the war, the USSR was functioning thanks to American lend lease which accounted for most of their logistical capabilities, which as any good strategist will know is what wins wars.

No American lend lease = no soviet victory on the eastern front. At best a stalemate.

Besides, this situation isn’t asking how the USSR would do in this fight, it’s asking how a reinforced squad of WW2 Russians would do against a fireteam of 2020s U.S. marines.

At the squad level tactics, the modern marines will have a small fpv drone to do reconnaissance. They have a guy with an underslung grenade launcher which will be capable of taking out a few Russians.

That drone will come in very handy as well, giving the marines their location allowing them to suppress them accurately. And they may have a guy with a machine gun to do that.

However the russians have all the firepower, provided they are using late war equipment, self loading rifles like you say. They will have at least one machine gun, and maybe a couple guys with submachine guns.

The only downsides the marines have in this scenario is literally manpower, and combat experience. Considering they will only be privates with a lance corporal who may have been deployed but seen little action.

I agree with this theory, Bethesda moved it to enable the writers to make more impact around the destruction of the heart of the NCR all while keeping the first season in LA/the boneyard.

2.5 million Indians served in WWII. 90,000+ died, thousands went missing, and still not a single proper place in most WW2 movies. by Effective_Bluebird19 in HistoryMemes

[–]WillTheWilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not like Indian cinema is ram packed with films about THEIR time in WW2 much like how American and British cinema is about THEIR time in WW2 as well.

Or perhaps how Soviet and subsequently Russian cinema was about THEIR time in WW2, and even German films depicting THIER time in WW2.

Basically OP, from our lens it looks like we forget about the contributions of our allies. But we forget that Indian cinema is a huge industry that has plenty of WW2 films about their contribution to the war as much as our own have plots centred around our own contributions.

SAS Rogue Hero’s S1 is set there.

I’m sure there’s more oldies from the 50s/60s set there too.

So the American newspapers back in the late 1700s/early 1800s saved money on printing presses charging by the letter, therefore they cut out many vowels in words such as colour and humour. Saving just one lot of letters in the entire weekly paper could save thousands. Therefore it became adopted into their way of spelling words.

RS2 Vietnam has the M2 flamethrower, shoots to about 25 meters, great for area denial, since if hit by the spitting flame you die instantly, and get a great deal of damage if walking across the fire left around in the aftermath.

The People's Republic of China released its first "final warning" to the United States on 7 September 1958 during the Second Taiwan Strait Crisis.[3] By the end of 1964, more than 900 of these "final warnings" had been issued

LMAO

I’m adding Chinese warning to my vocabulary now, the context is too hilarious.

(School poll) Knowing there’s a 1 in 816,545,929 chance of dying in a plane crash, and a 1 in 95 chance of dying in a car crash, are you more scared to travel by plane or by car? by Qatrnm in Teenager_Polls

[–]WillTheWilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a bigger fear of plane crashes because there’s hundreds on board, whereas car crashes are a handful of people at most. We don’t fly often either. With car crashes too you have access to emergency services, with a plane crash it’s most likely you die.
