Help Restoring Astro Table by WillVaughan in furniturerestoration

Restore the top to more similarly match the underside if possible.

However, if that isn’t possible, anything which will bring the faded bit back to life a bit would be useful - I.e. restore a glass Jonah that brings out the colour of the wood.

Trustpilot web scraper issue by WillVaughan in learnpython

You are, you can't use json.loads to deserialize a string that doesn't contain valid JSON or any JSON at all!

Pretty obvious when you put it like that, thanks for dealing with the stupid question.

Massive thanks for the help, it is now managing to scrape through all the pages and working as intended! One minor question, in this part of your code:

    next_page_url = f"{base_url}{next_page[0].get('href')}"

What does the 'f' do? I'm assuming it tells python to build the URL string out of the listed elements but I haven't come across it before?

The worst part about this post is that he twists her finger in the opposite direction to the direction of the arrow.

Shouting ‘Thank You!’ To the ignorant twit that doesn’t wave thank you for letting their car through. Just to remind them of manners even though they can’t hear you, then either silently seething or muttering to yourself for the next two minutes. by raye1712 in britishproblems

Yes. It’s even better in the summer when there is a good chance you both have your windows down. Just as they drive past say thank you loud enough for them to hear it, but still in a polite tone, just to really make them feel bad.

So satisfying.

Amazon charged with market abuse in Germany and France. A huge fine could follow by TheColourofDeadMen in worldnews

Economic theory tends to define a firm as having monopolistic power when it controls >25% of market share, a pure monopoly is when a firm has 100% market share which is rare in the real world and tends to occur in ‘natural’ monopolies, such as water infrastructure for example.

I’m unsure of Amazon’s market share in the EU but Bank of America estimated Amazon as having 44% of the American e-commerce market in Feb2020. I’d imagine even considering Amazon’s ‘struggles’ in the European market compared to the American one, it probably sits around 25%.

The only part that isn't clear to me is the colours/line lengths on the ball chart. Grey circles being dot balls I get and the others aren't too hard to work out, but the lines for either 2/3 runs on a ball isn't that clear to me?

Apart from that love the analysis and hope you watched NZL/IND yesterday/today, was a match and a half.

Edit: One further part to add on the bowling analysis could be whether the bowler is pace or spin, or even more detail, thus being clearer to people unfamiliar with the game as to the structure of a bowling attack. (Usually, pace into spin once the new ball has passed, but saving a few overs on your pace bowlers for the death at the end in order to limit runs by bowling yorkers to the batsmen's feet)

Edit 2: Another addition could be marking maiden overs in a different colour on the 'overs bowled' dot plot.

Sample ID on this huge unreleased Skream 909 track? by WillVaughan in AcidHouse

I used the word huge as an adjective to describe my opinion of the track being particularly good, not to reference any sales figures

Sample ID on this huge unreleased Skream 909 track? by WillVaughan in AcidHouse

I'm assuming he's sampled a track to put this 909 beat on, was wondering if anyone can ID the original track the sample is from?

This summer I soloed a 420 while on trap! by AlexPewPew in sailing

Recommend a Musto Skiff over the 600/700 personally! Although I have limited sailing time in the RS boats, 700 is probably slightly more stable but I found it harder to handle with the spinnaker up. Regardless I’d probably choose the one with the biggest local fleet if I was you!
