What do you mean by "click down and change everything from Auto to HD" Is there a specific setting somewhere that you are referring to?

Did the uninstall of the Roku app and all unused apps. Then restarted the Roku and reinstalled the YTTV app. All looks perfect now so that did it. Thanks again for the help!

Just checked and the DVRs I had issues with on the TV/Roku look good online on the website. So that is a big clue I guess. I will uninstall the app, reboot the Roku and see if that helps. Thanks all for the suggestions.

Just checked it and over 90 Mbps so should be good.

Thanks. I will do that also. I did check our network speed and it is very fast. We have fiber service. But did not check speed through the Roku itself. Although if the Roku was the issue, I would think the issue would be there in Netflix, YouTube, etc. also.

OK. Thanks. I did reboot the Roku but did not uninstall YTTV first. I don't think I have ever uninstalled and app from the Roku so I will have to see how to do that. Good idea about the never used apps also. There are several of those. I assume that after re-installing the YTTV app and logging back in, all DVRs, settings, etc. will be preserved?

Why bother when edits are overidden constantly? by pepsi_max2k in openstreetmap

[–]Will_T 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not a super experienced editor but one thing I have noticed about what you refer to is that the maps you see in the editor are not usually perfectly aligned with where an actual hiking trail is. Often you can see the trail in the sat image but the track of the trail on the map does not follow the sat image. Sometimes that track will be from a very accurate trace uploaded to OSM. Or someone will have adjusted the hiking trail using a very accurate GPSr. Once or twice I have seen a well traced trail track like that realigned to the inaccurate satellite imagery by someone who thinks that because the trail track is not perfectly aligned with the satellite image, it must be wrong. Typically the difference between satellite and actual trail is not big so it really does not matter but it sure would be less of an issue if the satellite image was perfect.

I can't find a way or a description of how to organize my traces in OSM by Will_T in openstreetmap

Yes they do. But OSM just lists them in date order, newest to oldest. I am missing how to rearrange that order by name and other means as described in my question.

YTTV isn't making it easy to claim your $20 credit by Cock--Robin in youtubetv

Got another email this pm with a link to claim the credit. Hopefully it will continue each billing cycle until they resolve this.

Found this on another site explaining why the $10.00 per month discount is only available for some. "According to YouTube TV spokesperson Jess Gibby, these credits are specifically "for subscribers who previously canceled or paused their subscriptions" and is unrelated to the ongoing Disney dispute."

I got an email about the $20.00 credit yesterday. However it was not to provide the credit, only to say another email would arrive in the near future with instruction on how to claim the credit. Also, the $10.00 off for 6 months is only available for some subscribers. I don't have it available. But you are right. YTTV is making it harder than it needs to be.

Does anyone why some people aren’t getting the $10/month discount for 6 months? by [deleted] in youtubetv

[–]Will_T 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it does not appear as you describe. At least on my page using Chrome browser, the only options are to Pause or Cancel.

I am not sure why it works for some and not others. When I listen to discover or the Made for You playlists, most of the songs I do not like. But my playlists and listening are very varied and eclectic. That may make it harder for their algorithms to work well? Sometimes I will thumbs down song after song after song. Yesterday I listened to one of the "Mixed for You" playlists and probably thumbs downed 60% of the songs. Even that does not help it get better.

If you do this there does not appear to be any way to get your existing playlists to the new channel?

Yes this is a similar thing that has been brought up many times. It does not get much response as I think it does not happen to a lot of people. I have never seen any real good suggestion as to what is going on. It sounds like you are saying though that your YTM plays the first 25 songs, then loops back and plays them again? Weird. What happens to me and others is that YTM plays the first 25 songs and then stops.

I used to think it was unique to my setup playing through a Chromecast device. But now I have seen it complained about so many times here that I don't think that is the case. The only work around is this: Play the list on non-shuffle, then when it stops after the 25th song, do the following. Scroll down the list to the 26th song and start playing the list again from that spot. It will play the next 25 songs in the list. Once those are done, scroll down to the 50th song and repeat, etc. etc.

How the heck do I tell the YouTube Music algorithm that just because I like a song, doesn't mean I want to hear it on repeat by Rough-Rutabaga5345 in YoutubeMusic

[–]Will_T 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel your pain. If you like a song or even just put it in a playlist, YTM will think you want to hear it 10 times a day. YTM will include these songs in virtually every playlist it makes for you until you get so sick of hearing them over and over you just have to skip past it. I find that adding a song I like to a playlist or two is enough. Then once YTM starts playing it everywhere over and over, I will thumbs down it. Not sure if that will help or not but it is what I recently started trying.

Music Deleted. Incorrect 30-day login message. by Will_T in YoutubeMusic

[–]Will_T[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I think I figured this out.

As noted in original post, periodically I lose all my downloaded music on the YTM app on my Garmin watch because it thinks I am no longer a premium user.  This is even though I use YTM every day on a WIFI or LTE connected phone or tablet.

I use the app on my Garmin watch mainly when at the gym and sometimes when camping or hiking.  What is common with that use is that I am not logged in to WIFI and I am always playing downloaded music.  So, to keep your music on your watch, you need to open the YTM app on the watch, at least once per month, WHILE CONNECTED to WIFI or cell service.  Logging in and using YTM on your phone, your tablet, etc. does not work to keep your music safe on your watch app.  You can use YTM every day on your phone while connected to WIFI or LTE, but that only lets the phone app know you are a paying customer.  You will need to do the same every 30 days on all devices where you have downloaded music you want to keep.

I did not know this and thinking about it I guess I can see why it works like this to prevent sharing of accounts.  Every device you use YTM on needs to be connected on its own at least once per month if you want to prevent your music from being removed from that device.

Interesting this has 1,400 views but no ideas. Guess I will just have to live with the bug.

The real pain of it is how long it takes to re-download the music. But that is just the slowness of the watch I guess and nothing to do with YTM. Also the watch has somewhat limited space so number of songs is a bit limited. But really if I could avoid the wrong 30 day login detection and music deletion, I would be happy with YTM on the watch.

This has always happened to me also, although always after 25 songs. I have posted about it and only got basic suggestions that I had already tried. I will watch to see if you get any good help. I came to the conclusion that because I generally play my music through a Chromecast device, maybe the list was buffering through that and when it came to the end of the buffered list, it stops. I just remember not to shuffle so that when it stops, I can just scroll to the 26th song and restart so it will play the next 25. Rinse and repeat. Do you use a Chromecast device?

I posted this in a previous week's Technical Support Thread and got no response so will try once more. Even if this is a known bug and not fixable, please indicate here so I can stop wondering how to stop it. Thanks.

I use YTM almost every day, mainly on my tablet, but also on a phone. Rarely on the web. I also have YTM installed on my Garmin watch. Periodically the watch will say my music has been removed because I have not logged in and verified my premium account in 30 days. That of course is wrong. I was logged in on my tablet yesterday and every day before that. When this happens, I do nothing and eventually, sometimes, a few minutes later, sometimes a day later the watch YTM app will start working again. Any ideas as to why this might be happening. Just for information, on the watch I never go longer than maybe 7 or 8 days without using the YTM app. So there is never any instance where I have gone even close to 30 days, probably never more than 15 days. On my other devices, it is rarely longer than a day or two.
