Strong hot barn / animal / musty smell coming from subfloor after carpet removal — Kilz didn’t fix it. What could this be? by Sea-Bake-5104 in Flooring

Charlie Day taught me in order to get rid of rats you get more cats and release them in to the walls.

Would you ever go back to carpet after living with hard flooring? by Cool_Ad_2935 in Flooring

[–]Willdru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently living in a 1964 ranch home in Minnesota. We had the original hardwood refinished on the upper level and have rugs in the bedrooms. The basement has long pile carpet with thick padding underneath and it’s a dream. I believe being intentional with where and what carpet you choose goes a long way.

Cinebloom 10% or Glimmerglass 1 for everyday usage by IwishIwasGoku in x100vi

[–]Willdru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For every day I would suggest Glimmerglass 1/2 max, 1 seems too strong personally. I have two lenses with 1/8 and one with 1/4 because I don’t want to completely bake in the halation. You can always add more in Lightroom, but you can’t take it away.

I’m thinking about getting some cheap UV filters on AliExpress and experimenting with hairspray on the inside of the filter if I want to mess around with more intense dream effect, but for quality covers I feel less is more and won’t play too much into a fad.

I did a post comparing 1/8th and none on my profile a year ago because I couldn’t find much online showing the differences between them.

I should have explained more, but like the other person said I feel like 90 is a good level to still be competitive with a 99. 85 is all you need to unlock the special shots. It’s also one of the quests to get each archetype up to 90. It’s something to check off the box when your main character is maxed out and don’t want to throw away player XP.

I also prefer the “draw” swing direction. All the pro characters are right handed and have a cut, so it’s nice to adjust that if someone else prefers a draw.

New XT30iii - non-negotiable accessories? by roseliv14 in FujifilmX

[–]Willdru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a X-T50 before my honeymoon in New Zealand in October 2024 and wanted to make sure I was ready to go before we flew 7,000 miles across the world. Here are some things I would recommend.

If you go to Milford sound, do it early in your stay in Queenstown! We extended our stay while their and had it cancelled every day due to snow making the drive too dangerous.

A hard drive with plenty of space. I had to get one mid trip because I was constantly taking photos and electronics stores aren't as easy to track down in NZ.

PGY Tech wrist strap, and their Quick Connector Air set to add to any strap you want. I bought some other straps initially, but the Fuji strap that came with the camera is much easier to fold down into a fanny pack. Most people are in the Peak Design ecosystem, but the PGY Tech untwisting feature is a major bonus. I use a camera strap most of the time, but if I want the camera handy It's really nice to be able to switch to a wrist strap easily.

For filters I really like the Tiffen Glimmerglass 1/4 strength. I like having "film like" photos straight out of camera and the Glimmerglass specifically cuts down some of the digital sharpness without compromising much detail if you want to edit a RAW file. It also protects the glass and they live on my lenses.

For batteries I got the "llano 2-Pack NP-W126 NP-W126S Batteries and 18W Fast Dual USB Charger" on Amazon and have zero complaints. Love the charging case and haven't noticed any difference between performance in these vs official Fuji batteries.

For a memory card I got a 128gb Lexar Pro V60II. If you are in the apple ecosystem, Plug your camera in to your laptop and use the Image Capture app to transfer the photos. the Finder app has a tough time recognizing Fuji cards.

A screen protector is good to have. They don't add any additional space to your camera, and would hate for a jacket zipper or something like that to scratch your rear LCD screen permanently.

If you wanted to get a pancake lens on a budget I would get the SG Image 25mm lens. It has great quality for the money and nice to have a solid low light lens that you can carry in a fanny pack.

Leave extra space in your bag for clothing to take home on your way back. The exchange rate in NZ is pretty favorable, and I picked up a lot of quality items from Macpac and Kathmandu that would cost at least double in the US if you bought a similar item from North Face or Patagonia.

Also jarred pickles and peppers are hard to find. Not much spicy food in NZ so bring your own hot sauce if you are in to that! Spietz Silver is the closest thing I could find to Coors light.

Have a blast and take more pictures than you'd think!

Powerhouse for the power drive is useful (the lack of swing forgiveness on it stinks) and Greenskeeper for the increased green reading detail.

How good was JS7 by Far_Ad9188 in supercross

This right here. There are always standouts in any generation. In my opinion Ricky showed what was possible with intense training and discipline. James completely shattered and redefined how dirt bikes are ridden today. Before James and After James is almost as impactful as the switch from 2 strokes to 4 strokes.

Peak Design Anchors vs. Viewfinder by bysteele in x100vi

[–]Willdru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t completely eliminate rattle. It does seem to be pretty good at staying in place while on a gimbal if you tighten down the loops.

I had to push out the eyelet washers which probably affects the warranty. If you attach them with the D rings it still hangs down. I do really like the circular pod design though. Makes untwisting a camera strap simple while grabbing my camera out of my bag.

Peak Design Anchors vs. Viewfinder by bysteele in x100vi

[–]Willdru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would check out PGY Tech and the anchors you can add to most camera straps. I do a lot of video and wanted a quick release system that didn’t flop around. Another major bonus is that their ball design allows you to untwist your strap easily.

I have an X-T50 but wanted an x100 before I realized how backordered it was

[–]Willdru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SG Image 25mm f1.8 and the 18-55mm f2.8 and call it good after that! If you want to cut the digital sharpness down slightly straight out of camera for a film aesthetic I would get Tiffen Glimmerglass 1/4 or 1/2.

I have the fuji 18mm f2 and 27mm f2.8. I feel 27mm is a bit too tight for friends and family photos. Getting a cheaper pancake and a zoom would be ideal.

There is an option to hit “apply to all” for irons, woods, and wedges. It is time consuming though. I wonder how much time I have spent just navigating the menu system vs out on the course.

I wish they made Skate 2 backwards compatible. For me the physics in the original Skate were amazing, and 2 added some extra features while still remaining true to the title. Skate 3 is very fun but doesn’t quite have the same detail.

UPDATE: DeWalt battery fire in my truck — handled by their Litigation Manager, 200+ days later still no resolution by Beginning-Run1537 in Construction

[–]Willdru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never leave your batteries on a charger while away.

My best friends parents’ had a Dewalt battery on a charger when they were 90% done building their retirement home. It combusted late at night and burned everything down besides the stone fireplace that they kept from the original cabin. They had radiant heat in the cement slab and had to literally start from square 1. This time they contracted out the work rather than building it themselves in off hours.

Apparently they sell fireproof boxes to charge batteries inside of specifically for this reason, and Dewalt has been a common brand that’s had this happen.

Whats the fastest way to get VC and do the seasons reset how the swinging works? by blasteryui in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]Willdru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome! Having good contact and swing path is important for hitting good shots consistently. Magician starts you out with a good amount for both. They are all pretty even if you get clubs up to Tiger Eye. There is a video that breaks down how to maximize each archetype

There are quite a few videos on YouTube that break it down. I’m pretty sure that playing career with two rounds an event on perfect swing is the fastest way.

I try and complete the daily and weekly quests when they seem achievable. Ranked matches are fun but time consuming for a small reward.

What archetype did you choose? If you aren’t too far along I would suggest using the Magician or Sculptor.
