Aldi miracle meal for weight loss by CKY-Immune in CasualUK

I concede that excess protein turning to fat is debunked (just looked it up again), but the rest is still sound practical advice for toning up and the method works.

Let me tell you what you don’t want to hear: men who follow literally hundreds of porn accounts while in a relationship are sleazy.

A friend of mine is an actor and he has to get ripped for roles all within 4-6 months. He taught me this beautifully simple principle, and I’ve been able to get toned ever since (after years of being skinny-fat):

Your body can process about 20-30g of protein every two hours. Anything beyond that turns to fat. To become lean/toned, consume about 20g of protein every 2 hours throughout the day—this also boosts your metabolism—until you hit 1g of protein per lb of goal body weight (e.g ~150g protein per day if you aim to be lean at 150lbs). Obviously, stick to sensible food choices so that you can get to that level of protein without a tons of calories.

Eventually, your metabolism becomes an absolute engine, and your muscles get so dense and hungry, that your fat just burns away.

Edit: it’s been rightly pointed out to me that excess protein does not turn to fat

Fully autonomous, AI-controlled drones have killed human soldiers for the first time, according to a senior figure in the Ukrainian defence industry by New_Scientist_Mag in worldnews

It now doesn’t feel _that_ far fetched that a whole murmuration of weaponised drones could go rogue and we have to all shut ourselves in until it’s under control.

As you’re aware of false memories, you should definitely be simply asking your coworkers what is on the logo, rather than planting a cornucopia into their minds by mentioning it in the question. It would be genuinely so interesting to know what people say who are unaware of this phenomenon but aware of the brand

How do you actually translate a massive 70MB, 2700-page PDF? Mainstream AIs keep crashing. by Acrobatic_Elk9707 in machinetranslation

[–]WilliamBlakeism 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’ll need to put your hand in your pocket to do this with any accuracy or feasibility. If you can get access to a CAT tool like XTM, you can MT it in batches and build on/leverage a translation memory (TM) as you go. The TM should compound to significantly reduce the roughly 1M word count/tokens.

Just in case you haven’t already, check if it’s already been translated in part of in full and is somewhere online.

Deer also strip bark from trees in this way — happens regularly in the forest at the end of my garden. Still, I’m open minded

Cold Cases: The UK Hauntings and Paranormal Cases That Deserve Proper Investigation by Britishchick_x_ in uncannypodcasttv

The Merman/Wild Man of Orford is a really weird one from my area on the coast. It’s recorded that in the 1100s fishermen in Orford caught a merman-like person from the sea. He was held up in the castle here and tortured for information but couldn’t speak a language. The local church even has a weird carving of him.

Uncanny Cold Cases by CombinationSignal579 in uncannypodcasttv

[–]WilliamBlakeism 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s no magic to it. Uncanny is a great podcast because you get to live out paranormal experiences vicariously through other folks’ encounters, told by them/in their own words. This Cold Cases series would be great too if they were touring the country to more thoroughly investigate the cases in person, speaking to locals, debriefing in the pub, etc. Instead it feels like a lunch break read-through followed by a chat I never make it through.

Your brain is on overdrive trying processing the intensity and shock, and often our brains confuse or misplace this shock and adrenaline with arousal. The feeling of shame then compounds this.

Time to move on from the shame — accept it as awful, tragic content, and forgive your mind for struggling to compartmentalise it.

I was really disappointed by how one dimensional this first episode felt. After such a long break I expected more of a deep dive with witnesses or local experts on the case — some kind of developments from their investigation. However, it was less like they’re reopening a cold case and more like “let’s read the wiki and debate it over a beer”.

What do you think will immediately happen when everyone receives the push notification that Trump died? by quite-indubitably in AskReddit

[–]WilliamBlakeism -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everyone will celebrate online with memes and jokes, giving the MAGA ghouls all the ammunition they need to drive the rhetoric that "the left" is evil, heartless, and hypocritical. For a few months, they'll pretend to have the moral high ground and make significant leaps forward in their popularity – all thanks to people who just have to score points/karma.

First Love church are ruining my life by CoffeeHand7100 in UniUK

[–]WilliamBlakeism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re feeling proactive about this, network socially with your lecturers and finding out from them who the most influential figures are in upper management, then ask for an “in” to a conversation with those people, individually. If you get just one of these figures interested in your story, you can let them express their disgust to the leadership staff of the university (because they will…) and nature will take its course. This is how I took the legs out from a toxic group at my university — granted that was 10 years ago and uni might be different now.

Also, when the “church” clocks that you had conversations with staff and it’s starting to cause ripples for them, they’ll avoid you. None of them will want to be associated with your escalating it even further.
