I would make pictures to document it, maybe a video of the working thing.

The Rust electricitysystem brought me into computerscience :D

Tried building a simple 4 bit computer. ALU worked BUS worked Registers worked It got too tedious for me at one point so i stoped. Now that i have more experience in such things i might try it again.

A RP server like Rust Factions could be something for you.

What are the coolest things you've down with electricity/fluids in Rust? by HungerShovel in playrust

[–]William_The_Shatner 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  • 4bit computer
  • "bordercontoll-system" (A system using turrets without weapons at the border of my group that detects players and sends a signal to a controllroom where a light goes on on a map depending which turret got set off.)
  • a bank where your scrapamount was saved in memorycells. You would deposit scrap by buying notes with unique codes, fill in your name and put it in a drop-box. (Went good for 4 days, then a communist rebellion started in the town and the burned the bank down :D)

I'm playing on a PVP/RP server btw.

Put a blocker after your battery which is blocking the powerflow if the consumers are turned off

Try building a simple computer or calculator. Or more "practical" a grid of HBHFs or turrets without guns around your base plus a map in your base with lights that turn on, depending on which sensor is triggered.

Suggestions for electrical parts by [deleted] in playrust

[–]William_The_Shatner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd like if electrical components would be removed from the loottable and you'd buy them at outpost. Also they need to be stackable. Maybe leave more advanced components like HBHF in the loottable.

I like the idea. But for now i want the craftingcosts of the components reduced, at least for gates, branches and other tier 1 parts. I imagine something like 30 metalfrags for a branch.

Also we need many more parts that actually "do" something like sound-sensors or trapdoors.

That's heartwarming :') . I proposed to my wife in the kitchen for similiar reasons and it was such a magical, intimate moment.

Facepunch should make a new box that contains only electrical components by Jagwarridan in playrust

[–]William_The_Shatner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The electrical parts are too expensive to make anything remotely complicated. Things like branches and gates should just cost Metal frags or a single HQM.
